Positions in government departments and offices for candidates with a class 10th pass qualification are few yet immensely popular. Thousands to lakhs of candidates compete every year for 10th pass jobs in India. Names of some positions that are usually open for matriculation pass candidates are gramin dak sevak (GDS), peon, constable, forest guard, and multi tasking staff (MTS).
One such job opportunity has recently been advertised – the IWST recruitment 2019 for multi tasking staff position.
Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST) under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) has published the notification number No.1-11/2019-20/IWST/Estt/2654. This notification conveys that that there are 12 vacancies of multi tasking staff in level 1 pay matrix, 2 vacancies of technician category I for plumber and carpenter in level 2, 1 vacancy of lower division clerk in level 2, and 1 vacancy of technical assistant in level 5.
MTS recruitment is for 2 vacancies of unreserved candidates, 4 OBC, 3 SC, 1 ST, and 2 EWS. technician category I vacancies are 1 for plumber and 1 for electrician; this post too is open for matric pass candidates. However for MTS, the age limit is 18 to 27, whereas for technician it is 18 to 30 years.
Class 12th pass qualification holder can apply for the lower division clerk position where a typing speed of 35 wpm in english or 30 wpm in hindi on computer is also needed. Age limit is 18 to 27 years.
Technical assistant position is open for candidates with a bachelor of science degree in a relevant field, such as BTech in Chemical Engineering; age limit for this post is 21 to 30 years.
In order to apply, candidates need to go to iwst.icfre.gov.in and click the link “Advertisement for Technician, LDC, MTS”. the PDF that opens next is the advertisement as well as application form. The document needs to printed and filled by self. In the application form, candidates need to fill advertisement number, full name, father’s or husband’s name, nationality, correspondence address, amount of application fee bank demand draft and date, whether candidate belongs to EWS category or not, date of birth, age as on December 16, 2019, educational qialifications, and other additional information.
The first point under general instructions in the notification says that the address for sending application form is The Director, Institute of Wood Science &Technology, 18thCross, Malleswaram, Bengaluru-560 003.
Last date for receipt of applications is January 16, 2020. So is the cut off date for determining age limit.
The application fee for IWST recruitment 2019 is Rs 300 which comprises of Rs 200 as application fee and Rs 100 as processing fee. This amount has to be paid as a demand draft.
Working under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, IWST works towards promotion of wood. Its roots date back to 1938, when the then Maharaja of Mysore established the Forest Research Laboratory which has over the years grown to be the Institute of Wood Science and Technology.
