ILS Bhubaneswar PhD Admission 2020 open for JRF, GATE, GPAT qualified candidates

To pursue a doctoral program in cancer biology, infectious disease biology, plant biotechnology, human genetics, candidates can apply for admission to PhD program in the Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

ILS Bhubaneswar PhD Admission 2020

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Bhubaneswar, functioning under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science Technology, Government of India hereby announces admissions to its PhD program for the 2020-21 session. The institute is engaged in advanced research in modern biology. 

ILS PhD admission 2020 is being offered in four key areas, namely cancer biology, infectious disease biology, plant biotechnology, human genetics. 

Last date of receiving applications is December 31, 2019. ILS Bhubaneswar will, after that, release the list of shortlisted candidates on January 10, 2020. Interviews shall be scheduled in the second week of February 2020. 

In the detailed notification, ILS has listed the faculties of each specialty who will take students through regular PhD program. Their names and research activities have been listed. 

Such candidates are invited to apply who have passed any one of M.Sc, M.Tech, M.Pharm, MVSc, or equivalent in life sciences and allied subjects of biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, biophysics, chemistry, microbiology, with at least 60% marks. Candidates should have passed, in addition, any one of CSIR /UGC JRF, DBT JRF, DBT BINC JRF, UGC RGNF, ICMR JRF, DST INSPIRE, GATE, GPAT. 

Applicants should be below 28 years of age as on December 31, 2019. SC, ST, women, PH candidates get a relaxation of 5 years and OBC candidates get for 3 years. 

Candidates will be shortlisted and called for interview process. All who are called will get to and fro bus or rail fare by shortest route limited to second class sleeper to all who appear for the interview process. List of candidates shortlisted will be put up at ils.res.in. Only Indian nationals can apply for the PhD program.

How to apply for ILS Phd Admission 2020?

Candidates need to visit ils.res.in, and navigate to the advertisements and notices section. Clicking the application form link on the next page automatically downloads the ILS PhD 2020 application form. Candidates need to print the same and fill in all details asked such as research area, name, name of father or husband, gender, date of birth, marital status, address, contact number, email, category, details of demand draft, photograph.

To apply, candidates need to pay fee in the form of DD, for Rs 500, in favor of “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar”. It should be payable in Bhubaneswar. SC, ST, physically handicapped candidates are exempt from all fee.

Then, regarding form submission, the Institute of Life Sciences says “Duly filled-up application along with self-attested copies of all relevant certificates and demand draft should be sent to the Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar-751023.” Candidates need to superscribe this on the envelope containing application form “Application for Ph.D. Program in 1) Cancer Biology 2) Infectious Disease Biology or 3) Plant Biotechnology 4) Human Genetics”. Those who wish to apply for more than one research areas need to send separate application forms for each discipline.
