Gandhian Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) has opened the registration portal to apply for the GITAM Aptitude Test (GAT) 2021. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the online exam on the official website i.e., gat.gitam.edu. Authorities have opened the application portal for admission to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. By qualifying the entrance test, students can get admission to B. Tech, M. tech and courses pertaining to fields of architecture, engineering, basic sciences, nursing, management and many more.
Interested candidates applying for GAT 2021 must fulfil the eligibility criteria specified by the authorities. To apply for the exam, candidates must first register themselves on the official website i.e., gat.gitam.edu. They are required to fill in credentials like name address, city, state and mobile number. After this, they have to click on the ‘register’ button to submit their credentials. They shall receive an email on their registered email ID to validate their email.
Successfully registered candidates have to log in to the website using their username and password. After doing so, they must fill the application form with necessary and correct details. Students are required to select two test centres according to their preference. The next step includes uploading relevant documents as per the format mentioned by the authorities. In the last step, aspirants must pay the examination fee of Rs.800 and submit the application form.
Authorities have also specified the eligibility criteria for admission to UG and PG programs. To apply for UG programs, candidates must have passed the 2020 or 2021 Class 12 board exams or its equivalent along with a rank obtained in GAT (Engineering) 2021. Candidates applying for B.Tech programs must score a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA (55% for ICSE and CBSE) aggregate marks in PCM subjects. Students applying for B. Tech in Biotechnology must secure a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA (55% for ICSE and CBSE) aggregate marks in PCM/B subjects. Candidates seeking admission for postgraduate exams must have a bachelor’s degree in the related field.
GAT 2021 exam for UG program is of 2 hours duration and comprises of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). A total of 100 questions shall be asked for a total of 200 marks. Each question shall comprise of four options and there is no negative marking for wrongly answered or answered questions. The question paper shall be divided into three questions- Physics with 30 questions, Chemistry with 30 questions and Biology/Mathematics with 40 questions.
The paper pattern for M.Tech programs has also been specified by the authorities. The examination, comprising of 100 questions, shall be of 2 hours duration. The question paper shall contain objective-type questions with each correct answer being awarded 2 marks. The paper shall be of a total of 200 marks with no negative marking in the exam. GAT 2021 shall comprise of three sections- Quantitative Aptitude with 40 questions, Reasoning with 30 questions and Verbal Ability with 30 questions.
