Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, has announced revised exam dates of the GCET 2021 exam. The state-level entrance exam is scheduled to be held on July 27 and 28, 2021. Earlier the GCET exam was scheduled to take place on June 15 and 16, 2021.
As per latest reports, the detailed schedule of availability of application form for the GCET 2021 exam is expected to be notified on the official website by June 20, 2021. Furthermore, GCET application form, once released, will be available online at the website dte.goa.gov.in. Candidates can also download the detailed common prospectus for GCET 2021 from the aforementioned website.
Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2021 is a state-level common entrance exam conducted for admission to various UG degree courses in the session 2021-2022. As per the official notification, the exam will be held for admission to Professional degree courses in Engineering & Pharmacy. However, admission to courses in Architecture and Medical degree programs including BHMS, BAMS, B. V.Sc. & A.H. & other nursing courses will be done on the basis of NATA and NEET UG 2021 scores respectively.
Candidates applying for the GCET exam must be Indian/NRI category. There is no age limit for the candidates applying for Engineering and Pharmacy courses. Complete details of course-specific age limitations can be checked in the official notification. The minimum educational qualification required is Class 12 pass by securing the requisite minimum marks, as specified by DTE Goa, for the GCET 2021 exam.
As per earlier records, the DTE Goa released the official notification and announced that online registrations for the GCET 2021 will commence from May 17, 2021. With the exam dates revised, aspirants can expect the Directorate to announce application form release dates, as promised, by June 20, 2021. GCET 2021 application form releases online on the website dte.goa.gov.in.
GCET exam is conducted in the pen and paper mode for a duration of 2 hours and the question paper consists of multiple-choice questions only. A total of 75 questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics where each question carries 01 marks. Candidates may note that there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in GCET 2021. The standard of the questions asked in the entrance test will be equivalent to the Intermediate i.e. 10+2 standard.
The aspirants who make it to the merit list will be called to participate in the GCET 2021 counselling with the GCET acknowledgement card, original documents and fees. Upon completion of the counselling session, the candidates can choose their desired seat as per the availability of seats and will be required to report to the respective institution within 3 working days.
