The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur is the conducting body for GATE 2022 and is set to conduct the examinations on February 5,6,12, and 13, 2022. Candidates who are appearing for the examination must begin with their final revisions and download their admit card which is available on the official IIT KGP website.
To ensure that students have ample time, IIT KGP released the admit card on January 15, 2022, and gave students at least 15 days to download it. Admit card acts as the candidate’s identity during the examination and must be strictly carried. Under the current COVID-19 circumstances, IIT KGP has issued several guidelines to ensure candidates’ and the examination authority’s safety.
Exam Day Guidelines by IIT Kharagpur
These guidelines have been extracted from the official website and all candidates must strictly adhere to them at all times. The guidelines issued by IITKGP are as follows.
- IIT KGP has maintained a safe and secure environment for all exam functionaries involved in the examination process using touch-free processes wherever needed.
- Candidates must reach the examination center at least 90 minutes before the examination to avoid overcrowding.
- Officials will check the candidate’s temperature via a thermogun at the center’s entry gate. Candidates having temperatures greater than 99.4 F will have to take their exam from an ISOLATION area in the examination center.
- After candidates enter the examination center, officials will check their admit card and identity proof from a safe distance.
- Candidates are only allowed to carry their mask, gloves, hand sanitizer bottle, pen/pencil, admit card and identity card inside the examination hall.
- During the photo capture process, candidates will have to remove their masks for some time.
- Candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall only after completion of the entire writing duration.
- All candidates must strictly follow these guidelines.
After the examination has been concluded, candidates must move out of the examination center in an orderly fashion and avoid any crowding. Authorities will only let one candidate leave the center at a time. Authorities will also ask all candidates to drop their GATE 2022 Admit card in a box kept at a safe distance after the examination is done. This is done to avoid any contamination of the virus. Seeing the current circumstances, all candidates must follow these preventive guidelines to stop the virus from spreading and help the government in breaking the chain.
