National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday, August 09, 2021, released the admit card of Graduate Aptitude Test Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2021 and Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2021. The admit card has been released on the official website dbt.nta.ac.in and is accessible by the applicants, online. GAT-B and BET 2021 entrance tests will be held on August 14, 2021 (Saturday).
In order to access the admit card, the candidates have to visit the website dbt.nta.ac.in. Wherein, they need to click on the link “GAT-B & BET – 2021 Admit Card”. By doing so, two options will appear on the applicant’s login page. Opting for any of the two login options, the admit card webpage will open. Candidates can sign in using their application form number and password/date of birth. Upon signing in, the admit card will appear on the computer screen.
In case of any difficulty in downloading the GAT-B, BET 2021 admit card or discrepancy in the given information, candidates may call the NTA helpline number- 011-4075 9000 or mail at [email protected] Candidates are suggested to preserve a copy of their admit card in good condition for examination and future reference.
NTA on behalf of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India will conduct GAT-B and BET 2021 entrance tests on the scheduled date i.e August 14. The entrance tests will be conducted in computer-based mode with a duration of 3 hours only. GAT-B 2021 will be held from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm, whereas, BET 2021 to be held from 03:00 pm to 06:00 pm. Questions in the entrance exams will only be asked in the English language.
Based on the exam pattern, GAT-B 2021 questions will be divided into two sections. Section-A will carry 60 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. In Section-B, a total of 100 multiple-choice questions of Graduate level will be asked. However, the candidates have to attempt only 60 questions in this section. Questions will be asked from Basic Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, and allied areas based on GAT-B 2021 syllabus.
Similarly, BET 2021, is also going to have two sections, Section-A and B. Section-A carried 50 compulsory MCQs of 10+2 level. Section-B, on the other hand, has 150 MCQs related to Biotechnology. The candidates have to attempt 50 questions.

Owing to the COVID-19 situation, the candidates are asked to only carry the following items – Admit Card along with duly filled in self-declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website, A simple and transparent ball-point pen, Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet, Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml), Transparent water bottle, ID proof, and Sugar tablets/fruits like banana/apple/orange in case the candidate is diabetic.
GAT-B examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates, a GAT-B rank is given based on which they may apply to various DBT-supported PG courses including- M.Sc Biotechnology, M.Tech. Biotechnology, M.Sc Agricultural Biotechnology, and M.V.Sc Animal Biotechnology, in participating institutions. BET 2021 on the other hand, is a qualifying examination through which the DBT doctoral research fellowships is given.
