The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint CSIR UGC NET Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences exam today on January 29, 2022, in second shift, from 3 pm to 6 pm. The candidates who have applied for this particular paper of the CSIR NET June 2021 exam will be writing the exam in various centres across India. The admit card for the same was released earlier by NTA on the official website of CSIR-NET at csirnet.nta.nic.in.
The exam will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT). It is a part of the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2021 Examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor conducted for five subjects.
CSIR NET 2022 Earth Sciences – Topics from which questions will come in today’s paper
Part B will have questions from – (1) The Earth and the Solar System, (2) Earth Materials, Surface Features and Processes, (3) Interior of the Earth, Deformation and Tectonics, (4) Oceans and Atmosphere, (5) Environmental Earth Sciences.
Part C will have questions on -(1) Geology, (2) Physical Geography, (3) Geophysics, (4) Meteorology, (5) Ocean Sciences.
What will be the exam pattern of today’s CSIR NET 2022 exam
The question paper will be divided into three parts.
- Part A will have 20 questions. The candidates have to attempt a maximum of 15 questions from them. 2 marks will be given for each correct answer and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrongly attempted question.
- Part B will have 50 questions. The candidates have to attempt a maximum of 35 questions from them. 2 marks will be given for each correct answer and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrongly attempted question.
- Part C will have 75 questions. The candidates have to attempt a maximum of 25 questions from them. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 2 marks will be deducted for each wrongly attempted question.
The candidates should note that the deduction for wrongly attempted questions is the 25% of the marks given for a correct answer.
Exam Timing
The CSIR-NET for Earth; Atmospheric; Ocean and Planetary Sciences exam will be conducted on the second shift on January 29, 2022. The exam will be conducted from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The candidates must report at the examination centres mentioned in the admit cards at least an hour before the scheduled beginning time of the exam. They should also keep a hard copy of the CSIR-NET Admit card along with a valid government id proof handy while going for the exam.
Last Minute Preparation Tips
Practice as many mock tests as the candidates can do. Revise all the topics that the candidates have already covered. Take a quick glance at the whole syllabus of the CSIR-NET Earth; Atmospheric; Ocean and Planetary Sciences paper. Practice the previous year question papers of the exam. Utilise the morning hours to cover the short tricks and methods that will be helpful while writing the exam.
