National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in announcing the CSIR NET 2022 exam date. Accordingly, the Council of Industrial and Scientific Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) 2022 examination is going to be conducted on January 29, 2022. Following this date, two more rounds of the exam will be conducted. Apart from this, NTA has not provided any details about the exam. Hence, candidates are wondering about the release of CSIR NET 2022 application release date, registration deadline, etc.
Naturally, looking at the past-year records is the only way to predict a tentative CSIR NET 2022 application form release date. Based on the events of last 5 years, the application form is expected to release by the last week of November 2021 or first week of December 2021. Authorities would want candidates to get maximum time to apply for the eligibility test.
In 2020, the CSIR NET registration began on March 16 and continued till May 31. Initially, the exam was scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam was rescheduled to November 19, 21, and 26, 2020. Registration was reopened and continued till September 10, 2020. Going by this schedule, the CSIR NET 2022 registration is likely to begin in the last week of November or the first week of December 2021.
In 2019, the CSIR NET registration process began on September 09 on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in and continued till October 09. Thereafter, the exam was conducted on December 15, 2019. Looking at this sequence of events, candidates can clearly see a gap of more than three months between registration commencement and exam conduction. Given the CSIR NET 2022 exam date announced, a three-month gap is not possible.
A similar sequence of events happened in 2018 when the CSIR NET application process began on September 25. Registrations continued on the official website csirhrdg.res.in till October 17, 2018. Later on, almost two months later, the entrance exam was held on December 16, 2018. Here again, there’s almost a three-month gap between the commencement of registration and the conduction of the exam.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSIR NET 2021 schedule was delayed, forcing a reduced time gap between the last date of registration (extended) and the exam date. With the NTA planning on conducting the CSIR NET 2022 exam in January 2022 itself, candidates can expect a shorter time gap again. They shall receive more clarity once NTA releases the 2022 schedule.
