A few days earlier, a newspaper report claimed that NTA has confirmed the complete schedule for CMAT 2019. As per it, the exam for CMAT 2019 will be held on January 28, 2019, however, no such announcement was made on the NTA’s official website. NTA has now published a press release on August 23, 2018, in which it has been confirmed that the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT 2019) will be held on January 28, 2019.
A tentative schedule was released by NTA on July 07, 2018 stating that CMAT 2019 will be held on January 27 and the registration will start from October 22, 2018. However, now it has been confirmed that the registration for CMAT exam will start from November 01, 2018. The last date of submitting the application form is November 30, 2018.
Till 2018, CMAT exam was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year. The test will now be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a national level entrance examination of three-hour duration. The exam will be held in a single session only.
The syllabus and exam pattern for CMAT wil be same as last year. Hence, the test will comprise of 400 MCQ type questions and there will be 04 sections namely – Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension. Each section will have 25 number of questions of 100 marks. There will be a negative marking of -1 marks for an incorrect answer.
One another important announcement made by NTA is that a facility for Test Practice Centers (TPCs) for students of rural areas will be provided. Computer centers are being made available in about 2,697 schools/ colleges, and the candidates can avail this facility from every Saturday/ Sunday from September 01, 2018. It is free of charge.
This facility is not only useful for the rural area candidates, but for candidates from any category. The TPCs will have a downloaded CBT which will be similar to the actual test to be conducted on the exam day. This will help the candidate to familiarize themselves with the entrance test.
