Consortium of NLUs, the organizing body for Common Law Admission Test have published the notification for the CLAT 2021 exam.
CLAT 2021 will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2021. The exam will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM on the said date. It will be an offline, pen and paper based test. Last year the exam was held online.
For the law entrance test, Consortium of NLUs shall release application form at consortiumofnlus.ac.in on January 1, 2021. Last date to apply for the exam has been announced as March 31, 2021.
The Common Law Admission Test will be held for UG as well as PG programs admissions. For the UG law courses, eligibility criteria dictates that candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent exam with at least 45% marks. However SC, ST candidates with 40% can also apply. Those who are appearing in the March/April 2021 board exams are also eligible.
For the PG law admissions, candidates need to have an LLB degree with at least 50%, or in the case of SC, ST candidates the minimum requirement is 45%.
Registrations for CLAT will begin in five days time. The application fee, whether it be for UG or PG programs, is Rs 3500 for SC, ST, BPL candidates, and Rs 4000 for all others.

CLAT is the national level law entrance exam in India. Last year 75,183 candidates had registered for the exam that serves as the gateway for admission to 22 National Law Universities in India. Besides CLAT, AILET 2021 is the other exam for NLU Admission, but it is only for NLU Delhi. AILET will be held a week before CLAT, on May 2, 2021.
