Consortium of NLUs conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021 today. The national level law entrance exam was held from 2 pm to 4 pm in 84 cities in the country. The official answer key for the exam is expected to be released today, at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Last year, the CLAT exam was held on September 28, and the official answer key was released on the same day, in the evening. If the consortium decides to take a similar step this time, then law aspirants can expect the answer key to be released today.
In the year 2019 though, the answer keys were made available 4 days after exam. Whereas in the year 2018, the answer key release date was 3 days after exam.
Therefore if not today, then candidates can anticipate the answer key to release within 3-4 days of the exam.
Once the model solutions are available, the Consortium will allow candidates to challenge the same. In this way, the answer keys will serve two purposes – (1) Letting students know the correct answers to the test question paper and estimate their scores, and (2) Making the exam process more transparent and fair.
It may be noted that coaching institutes also release answer keys of CLAT exam. If the official answer keys are released today, then the unofficial ones will not be of much consequence. However if that does not happen, then candidates can definitely make use of the institutional answer keys to get an idea of the answers to the questions asked in exam, and estimate scores. Nevertheless, it will be important to remember that the official answer keys only will be used for marking for CLAT results.
When will CLAT 2021 result be declared?
With the exam over, the wait for result begins. Last year, the result of CLAT exam was announced exactly 7 days after exam. However in 2019, and 2018, the result dates were 19 days and 18 days after exam.
Therefore the earliest declaration of CLAT results this year can be expected around July 31, 2021, and the latest by August 11, 2021. Interestingly, it may also be noted, that the other important law entrance exam, All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is scheduled to be held on July 30, 2021.
CLAT is the gateway for admission to the premier law institutes of the country. Prominently, the participating institutes are NLSIU Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, NLIU Bhopal, WBNUJS Kolkata, NLU Jodhpur, HNLU Raipur, GNLU Gandhinagar, RMLNLU Lucknow, RGNUL Punjab, CNLU Patna, NUALS Kochi, NLUO Odisha, NUSRL Ranchi, NLUJA Assam, DSNLU Visakhapatanam, TNNLU Tiruchirappalli, MNLU Mumbai, MNLU Nagpur, MNLU Aurangabad, HPNLU Shimla, DNLU Jabalpur, DBRANLU Haryana.
