The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully conducted the class 12 English Elective exam today, i.e. May 13, 2022. Students were given a duration of two hours to complete the exam. The exam commenced at 10:30 AM and continued till 12:30 PM. In addition to that, every student was given a reading time of 15 minutes. Soon after the completion of the exam, various coaching centres and subject experts are expected to come up with the answer keys. The students who are eager to have an idea of their overall performance can go through these answer keys for some reference. Keeping in mind the pandemic, the exam was held amidst all COVID-19 protocols.
Where to check?
Since the official answer keys are not yet available, it is expected that the same will be released after the CBSE term 2 exam 2022 concludes. Despite that, at this point, only the unofficial answer keys can be referred to. As mentioned already, these question paper solutions can only be accessed from the respective channels of the coaching centres.

Question Paper
The questions in the CBSE class 12 English elective exam mainly tested the students’ reading comprehension and creative writing skills. Then, there were questions from applied grammar, literature and fiction. Section-wise questions mainly covered the following:
- Reading Comprehension – unseen passage, unseen poem, case-based unseen passage
- Creative Writing Skills – speech, report writing
- Applied Grammar – transformation of sentences (voice, speech, clauses, change of sentence types)
- Literature – MCQs from Kaleidoscope
- Fiction – A tiger for Malgudi or The Financial Expert
The total marks of the question paper are 40. It was divided into five sections having different marks distribution. To know the section-wise marks, take a look at the table below.
