The Chandigarh Home Guard Organisation has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates for the post of Home Guards. The application proforma is available on the official website of Chandigarh Police i.e. chandigarhpolice.gov.in. The vacancies are only meant for the Male candidates. According to the official notice released by the organisation, there are 25 vacant posts for the post of Home Guards. The candidates who possess the required qualification (10th pass) can apply for the same by February 14, 2021. As per the official notice, the tenure of the service period will be initially for 3 years.
The application process for the aforesaid post will be done offline. The applicants have to send by the duly filled application form along with the self-attested certificates via speed post. As the application process is offline, the candidates can send the filled application form to District Commandant Home Guards, Home Guards HQs Building Sec-17/E Chandigarh- 160017 by February 14, 2021.
The age limit for all the Male candidates who wish to apply for the post of Home Guard must be between 18 years to 50 years. While the minimum height of the applicant should be 165 cm and normal chest measurement must be 80 cm and 04 cm with expansion. Candidates who belong to the notified hilly areas will be given relaxation of up to 05 cm in height or chest. The candidates have to give the physical test. Applicants who lie in the age group of 18-35 years have to participate in the 01-mile race to be finished in 8 minutes. While the candidates who belong to the age group of 35 years to 50 years have to jog for 15 minutes.
The selection process for the candidates will be based on the Trade Test and bonus marks will be awarded for the possession of certificates. The Trade Test will be conducted for 50 marks and candidates are judged for their special skills, i.e Computer Skills, Driving skills, Cook or Sports etc. Details of the same are available in the official brochure, candidates are requested to check the same. The candidates have to specify the trade they wish to appear in the application form itself. While 1 marks will be allotted to the candidates who possess NCC Certificate of C grade. In the same way, the candidates who possess a certificate of two Civil Defence Advanced Course as the part-time instructor from CTI or NCDC Nagpur will be awarded 2 marks.
As per the official notice, the final merit list will be drawn on the basis of the total marks scored by the candidates in Trade test and bonus marks. The candidates thus finally selected are called for the basic training of a brief period of 45 days.
