The much-awaited Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam starts tomorrow i.e November 08, 2020. Call letters for UPSC CDS II exam are already released on the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in. Moreover, UPSC has also issued some instructions. Candidates have to ensure that they follow these instructions for the smooth commencement of exam. These safety measures are available on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website online.

As per the published instructions, aspirants have to reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes prior to the reporting time. The entry gates will close 10 minutes before the commencement of exam. So, the candidate is allowed to enter the exam centres after the reporting time. So, aspirants should reach the exam centre, as specified on the call letter, on time.
The exam is taking place in the middle of the global pandemic, so candidates have to be extra careful. UPSC has asked candidates to wear protective face masks/ face shield to the examination centre. However, if asked by the invigilator, candidates have to remove their face mask for the verification purpose. Applicants have to ensure that they carry their own hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle. They also should maintain and follow the social distancing and personal hygiene within the exam hall/ room.
There are some documents that candidates have to carry to the exam centre for verification. First is the UPSC CDS 2 admit card. Aspirants have to ensure that they carry hard copy of hall ticket to the centre in A4 size sheet. Along with that, a photo bearing identity proof is mandatory. It can be any one of the following – passport, aadhar card, driving license, voter card, etc. Also, carry 03 photographs similar to the one uploaded during online application form submission; one for each session. Candidates have to carry their own black point pen to the exam centre to mark answers.
Ensure that aspirants do not carry any valuable items to the exam centre. UPSC will not be held responsible in case the valuable item is misplaced or lost. In addition, do not carry electronic gadget or communication gadgets such as Calculators, Mobile Phones, Bluetooth, Earphones or related item to the exam centre. Such items are not allowed inside the exam premises. Before appearing, candidates are advised to read the Manual of Examination’.
All these instructions are also available on CDS II admit card. Aspirants can get their respective admit card for CDS 2 exam from upsc.gov.in. As the call letters are available through login, keep the registration number and roll number ready.
