Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has released the exam day instructions pdf for CAT 2019 online at iimcat.ac.in. CAT 2019 exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 24, 2019. Candidates must report at the exam centre as per the schedule and along with all the necessary documents required. Candidates can download admit card till the exam date.
CAT 2019 exam is going to be conducted in two shifts. It is advised to reach the test centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting timing. Forenoon session is from 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon session is from 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM. For the forenoon session, candidates need to report at 07:30 AM and entry post 8.45 AM will not be allowed, whereas, for the afternoon session, candidates have to report at the allotted test centre at 01:00 PM and last entry is allowed till 02:15 PM.
On the day of the test, the candidates must carry a colour print out of the CAT 2019 admit card which consists of personal details of the candidate like candidate’s name, date of birth, and exam details like test date, test timings, reference number, etc. Candidates can use the reference number to identify their exam lab/ seat inside the test centre. Candidates have to affix a photo on the space provided on the admit card (the photo should be the same as the one uploaded by the candidate in the application form). Furthermore, candidates need to carry a valid id proof in original like College ID, Employer ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhar Card, and Identification Affidavit. Candidate’s name on the admit card should match with that on the ID proof.
At the test centre, candidates will have to undergo frisking, then get their documents verified and complete their biometric capture.
Candidates can wear Socks, plain Pullovers/Sweaters/Cardigans (without any pockets) for CAT exam. DO not wear any jewellery or any other kind of metallic object, mobile phone, bag, wallets, jackets, electronic gadgets, stationery items, etc. inside the test centre.
CAT 2019 is a computer-based test which is of 03 hours duration, whereas, for PWD/DA candidates, they will get an extra 20 minutes for each section. There shall be a total of 100 number of questions. There are two types of questions in CAT exam which are MCQs and Type in answers type questions (TITA). For Non-MCQ type questions, candidates need to type the answer using the virtual keyword which is going to be provided on their console. At the Console, use the Mouse to select the right Option as an answer for an MCQ and use the on-screen Keyboard to answer a non-MCQ. Do not use the keyboard as this will lock your computer system.
The entrance exam would have three (03) section namely, Section I – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Section II – Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Section III – Quantitative Ability (QA). For all MCQ type, there are negative marking of 01marks for an incorrect answer and there would be no negative marking for a non-MCQ type question.
