Assam Secondary Education Department has published the official notification for conducting the 2020 High School TET exam. Assam High School TET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on January 10, 2021, in various zones of Assam. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply online at ssa.asssam.gov.in starting from November 20, 2020. The last date to apply online is November 30, 2020. The online application fee can be paid till December 03, 2020. Qualifiers of the test are awarded TET certificates for recruitment as Post Graduate teachers.

As per the advertisement, candidates meeting the specified eligibility conditions can apply online by paying a fee of Rs 500 (for General) or Rs 300 (for SC/ST, OBC, MOBC and PwD).
Candidates who are atleast 21 years of age or above are eligible to apply for the Assam High School TET 2020. Only Indian candidates who are permanent residents of Assam are eligible to apply. Candidates must have acquired Post Graduate qualification with at least 50% marks. In addition candidates must also have a B.Ed degree from NCTE recognized institution.
Application can only be submitted at the official website before the last date. All the necessary details in the registration/application form must be entered correctly. Candidates found to have provided false information are liable for legal action and disqualification of TET certificate even if it is issued.
Registered candidates will be issued admit cards to appear in the test which will be for a total of 200 marks. There are two papers in the test namely Paper I & Paper II. In all there are 200 MCQ type questions in the test with each carrying one mark for correct answer.
As per the advertisement, Paper I is common to all candidates. It includes the subjects of Pedagogy, General English, Basic Numerical and Assam and its people. The second paper can be chosen from the following options.
- Option A – Exclusively Commerce Related
- Option B – Exclusively Science Related
- Option C – General Studies and Current Affairs.
Each of the paper must be completed in a period of 2 hours. Candidates have to qualify both the papers separately in order to qualify for the test. The minimum qualifying marks is specified by the Secondary Education Department. Candidates have to secure at least 60% marks in each paper. However, 5% relaxation on the minimum marks are allowed for SC/ST, OBC, MOBC and PWD candidates. Qualifiers are awarded the TET certificate which remains valid for up to 7 years from the date of issue.
