Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced the cancellation of preliminary exams conducted for government jobs in Andhra Pradesh except for the group-1 recruitment. Additionally, the number of posts will be increased in various jobs and 10% of total vacancies will be reserved for EWS. Along with this, APPSC has also announced that the official notification for the recruitment of 1180 vacancies for group-1 and group-2 posts will be released in August 2021.
In an interview, Shaik Salam Babu, the APPSC member, declared that to make the recruitment process easier, APPSC has decided to scrap the preliminary exams. Further, he added that to minimize the duration of the recruitment process, it is beneficial to scrap the preliminary exam so that the valuable time of candidates is saved. As per his statement, APPSC will conduct only a single common exam for further recruitment processes.
Ahead in the interview, Shaik Salam Babu said that the process of implementation of the revised structure of the recruitment is in process and will come in effect from August 2021. Many unemployed youths of Andhra Pradesh state are demanding that the maximum age to get eligible for the recruitment process should be increased to 47 years. S.S. Babu said that APPSC has already presented the request for age relaxation in maximum age to the government and will be soon implemented once it gets approved by the government.
As APPSC has scrapped the preliminary exam, the whole process of recruitment will be completed within three months. Earlier, completing the whole recruitment process took nearly one and half years due to which many candidates have to wait for a long period. By conducting the single entrance test this duration will now be reduced.
During the interview, Shaik Salam Babu also said that the cases filed against the unemployed youths will be scrapped. A few days before, many youths protested against APPSC due to which legal complaints were filed against them. But now, taking their career into consideration, APPSC will withdraw all these complaints and have sent the request for the same to the home cell of Andhra Pradesh state.
Candidates who are willing to apply for the APPSC recruitment 2021 which is going to officially start in August 2021 are advised to start their preparation at the earliest. As prelims are scrapped, APPSC will soon conduct the common entrance exam. Immediately after the declaration of the results of the main exam, the qualified candidates will be called for interview rounds. Post-interview rounds, the final results will be published along with the merit list and candidates will get allotted to the respective government services departments.
