AP EAMCET

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) is going to change the name of its well-known entrance exam Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). From the upcoming academic year 2021-22, the entrance exams shall be known as Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture Common Entrance Test (EPACET). The notification for 2021-22 admission shall also reflect the exam name changes. APSCHE is also expected to announce the EPACET 2021 exam date soon on its official website apsche.ap.gov.in. Authorities shall conduct admissions for medicine through the NEET 2021 examination scheduled on August 01, 2021.

APSCHE previously its separate entrance exam for candidates who wish to pursue Engineering, Medicine and Agriculture courses in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Even though the exam was meant for medical aspirants, admission for the undergraduate course was conducted through NEET since 2017. Due to this reason, authorities have decided to change the entrance test name. Thus, for the upcoming academic year 2021-22, the exam shall be known as EPACET rather than EAMCET.

The state council is expected to release the EPACET 2021 examination dates soon on the official website apsche.ap.gov.in. As per reports, a large number of students across the state appear for entrance every year. The state-level CET has been conducted for the last 35 years. Reports also suggest that more than 2 lakh candidates are hopeful to appear for the exam this year.

As per reports, APSCHE is going to release the admission notification for 2021-22 in April 2021. Registration process for EPACET 2021 examination shall begin in May 2021 and the last day to submit the online application shall be in July 2021.

According to last year’s paper pattern, the entrance examination shall be of 3 hours duration and shall be conducted through the computer-based format. The question paper shall be available in various languages including English, Telugu and Urdu (for certain candidates). EAMCET 2020 had multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with each question being awarded 1 mark. There was no negative marking for wrong answers. The same marking scheme is expected for EPACET 2021.

The EPACET 2021 question paper shall be divided into three sections namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. The first two sections shall comprise 40 questions whereas the last section shall comprise 80 questions. Thus, in total, the question paper shall contain 160 questions. Again, this paper pattern is based on last year’s pattern. Any changes in the exam pattern shall be notified by the authorities.

This year, APSCHE is conducting the entrance exam for candidates who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in the field of engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture. Admission for medical courses shall be done through NEET.
