Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is inviting applications for the M.Tech. (CSE & CB) Admissions for Monsoon Session, AY 2021-2022. The candidates can apply for the program until 5:00 pm on April 20, 2021. Online application forms are available at iiitd.ac.in.

To apply for the M.Tech. (CSE) courses both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech./BE or MCA/MSc in CS/IT (& its allied areas) with 65% marks are eligible to apply. However, there is an additional criteria for GATE candidates which is GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year i.e. 2019/2020/2021 will be considered valid. For CSE, the “CS” GATE paper will be considered.

Of the total 149 seats, 110 seats are reserved for the GATE students and 39 for the non-GATE students.

For admission in the M.Tech (CB) course, candidates must have B.Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing, or B.Tech/BE in any other discipline. Or candidates having MCA / MSc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical sciences) / B.Pharm / MBBS / BDS degree can also apply. For all except for B.Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing, applicants must have done one computer programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses during their qualifying degree or from a recognized institution/online education portal.

Also, the applicants must have 65% in the qualifying exam and a valid GATE score in any GATE paper that is relevant to the qualifying degree as mentioned above. The applicants must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.

IIIT-Delhi also provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and CW category candidates. Candidates under these categories must have 60% in the qualifying exam. They must have at least 55% in all previous degrees including 10+2.

A total of 28 seats are available in this program.

The M.Tech. (CB) program strives for rigorous training in theoretical and computational approaches (for solving real-life biological problems) and includes algorithms and programming, fundamentals of biology, genetics, bioinformatics, systems, and synthetic biology, mathematical modeling, stochastic simulations, and biophysics. Some advanced and recent topics (such as computational neuroscience, single-cell biology/genomics, bio-simulations, biostatistics, machine learning, big data analytics, etc.).

IIIT-Delhi believes that Master’s degree is primarily industry-focused, though it can be used as a stepping stone for research as well. The decision whether the degree is to be pursued for skill and knowledge up-gradation, or also for building research skills should rest with the student. One of the most reputed research-based institutions in the country, IIIT-Delhi is the dream of many candidates who want to innovate solutions for modern-day challenges and can help them carve a stellar career for themselves.
