AIIMS MBBS 2018 Result was declared on June 18, 2018. This year the number of registering as well as the number of qualifying candidates has increased. Out of a total of 4,52,931 registering candidates, 3,74,520 candidates appeared in the examination. Whereas, a total of 7,617 candidates have qualified this AIIMS 2018. This number includes 2,705 female and 4,912 male students.
As per the official notice, the Mock round of Seat Allocation/ Online Counselling is expected to begin on June 23, 2018, followed by later rounds of counselling. The details will be available at aiimsexams.org very shortly. All candidates are required to register for online allocation of seats/counselling on June 23.
The top 100 candidates represent 43 cities from 20 states or Union territories, according to the statement. From this year, the counselling will be conducted online except for the open round of counselling.
These 2,649 candidates will be issued counselling letters online at aiimsexams.org. Candidates have to download and take a print of the counselling letter. Letters will not be dispatched via posts. This is the first time that AIIMS will conduct the counselling process online. Thus, the mock counselling rounds will be available on the website for the candidates to familiarize themselves with the online counselling process.
The 2,649 candidates are so selected for the first round of counselling, such that only four times the number of seats available in each category will be available. There are 100 seats each in AIIMS in New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh and 50 seats each in AIIMS in Mangalagiri (Guntur) and Nagpur. If the seats remain vacant after the initial round, the online counselling will be opened to other eligible candidates.
Eliza Bansal, Ramneek Kaur Mahal, Mehak Arora, Manraj Singh Sra topped the exams with a perfect 100 percentile.
This year the AIIMS cutoff percentile for UR category is 98.8334496, for SC/ST it is 93.6505421 and for OBC it is 97.0117712. However, last year the cut off for UR was 99.00, cut off for OBC (NCL) was 97.42 and 94.12 percentile for SC/ST. Thus, this year the cutoff of AIIMS has witnessed a marginal drop.
Last year 4,905 candidates had qualified. Also, the number of registering candidates was lesser as compared to 2018. A total of 3,64,242 candidates registered and 2,84,737 candidates appeared in the examination. Out of them, 4,905 candidates qualified in this examination declared eligible for admission to the first round of counselling.
AIIMS 2018 was conducted on May 26 and 27 for 800 seats in nine All India Institutes of Medical Sciences. Now the qualified candidates will which are 7,617 in number will participate in the counselling rounds of AIIMS 2018 and fill up these available seats. AIIMS, New Delhi is considered to be best of all. There are 100 seats available in this Institute. The distribution of seats among the categories is 50 seats in the Unreserved category, 27 seats in OBC category, 15 in SC, and 8 in ST. For Foreign nationals, 7 seats are reserved.
