The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for AFCAT 2022. To be precise, the notification for AFCAT 01/2022 has been published. Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2022 details has been advertised vide a detailed notification, which has been first published in employment news, and will soon release on the official website of IAF AFCAT exam which is careerindianairforce.cdac.in.
Interested candidates who desire to be a part of the IAF as commissioned officers in flying and ground duty can submit online applications via careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in. The online applications will open on December 01, 2021. Candidates will have time up to December 30, 2021 to submit their applications.
Vacancies
As per the AFCAT 2022 notification, a total of 317 vacancies are available for Flying and Ground Duty (technical and non-technical branches). However, the vacancies are tentative as the actual intake would depend on the organizational requirements, availability of training slots and other factors. Apart from the mentioned vacancies, 02 seats remain reserved for the law qualified candidates under Ground Duty (non-technical). There is a special NCC entry scheme for the Flying branch.

Dates
The online application process for AFCAT 2022 will begin on December 01, 2021 and continue till December 30, 2021. The training will begin in the first week of January 2023 and will take place at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad).
Eligibility
The foremost eligibility criterion is that the candidates must be a citizen of India. Secondly, they must meet the age requirements as laid down on the notification. Under the Flying Branch, the candidate must be of 20 to 24 years as on January 01, 2023. In other words, they must be born between January 02, 1999 and January 01, 2003. Candidates who hold valid and current commercial pilot license (issued by DGCA, India) will get a relaxation up to 26 years.
Similarly, to apply for Ground Duty (technical and non-technical branches), the candidate should be between 20 to 26 years as on January 01, 2023. In other words, they must be born between January 02, 1997 and January 01, 2003.
The candidates must be physically fit when they undergo the tests at AFSB. As per the physical conditioning, one must be able to run 01 mile in 10 minutes. They will also be required to do 10 push-ups and 03 chin-ups.
Application
AFCAT 2022 application process will be carried out online as per the dates mentioned above. Eligible candidates must apply online using the special tabs allotted for AFCAT entry, NCC special entry and Meteorology entry. The ones who are eligible for more than one entry must register separately. For AFCAT entry, online testing is going to be conducted across the various centres. These candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs 250 as examination fee, On the other hand, candidates applying via NCC special entry are exempted from paying any application fee.
