Today marked the second and last day of the AFCAT 2/2019 exam. Defence aspirants from across the nation appeared in the Air Force Common Admission Test yesterday, and today. With the exam concluded, various coaching centers have published day wise, shift wise questions asked with answers.
An estimated number of two lakh candidates appear in AFCAT every year. And to train these students fresh out of graduation, or in their final years, there exist several coaching centers in the country. These centers have published memory based AFCAT (2) 2019 questions and answer key vide their official websites, youtube channels, social media groups, and other channels.
It is worthy to note that besides coaching centers another group of individuals actively provide AFCAT question papers and solutions once exam is over. They are the ex-AFCAT aspirants, and past year AFCAT cleared candidates.
The questions asked in general knowledge were critiqued to be moderate in difficulty level. A few of the questions asked and their answers are as follows. (Ans: Benjamin Franklin) What is the full form of FGFA? (Ans: Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft) Who was the last Rajput ruler? (Ans: Maharaja Hari Singh) What is the full form of CAS? (Ans: Chief of the Air Staff)
With the exam over, wait for AFCAT 2/2019 result begins. Although IAF or CDAC have not mentioned in any date for declaration of result yet, it is expected to be announced between seventeen to twenty days of exam, that is in the second or third week of September.
Result is expected in the said duration because result of last AFCAT, that is 1/2019 was announced after seventeen days, and that of the AFCAT exam prior to it 2/2018 was published twenty one days after the exam.
AFCAT 2/2019 was successfully conducted on August 24 and August 25. On both the days the exam was held in two shifts. First shift was only for AFCAT candidates, and second shift was for AFCAT with EKT candidates.
The Air Force Common Admission Test was a two hour long paper with 100 questions of 300 marks. Candidates get three marks for every correct answer, and one mark is deducted for incorrect answer in lieu of negative marking.
AFCAT comprised of questions from general awareness, verbal ability in Enlgish, numerical ability, reasoning and military aptitude test. EKT was of 45 minutes with 50 questions of 150 marks on mechanical, computer science, and electrical and electronics.
Indian Air Force conducts AFCAT twice a year, for entry to its flying branch and ground duties. In AFCAT 2/2019, the number of vacancies are 60 SSC in flying branch, 102 in ground duty technical branch, 56 in ground duty non technical branch.
Cut off of AFCAT in 2/2018, 1/2018, 2/2017, 1/2017 were respectively 140, 155, 160, and 150. The first online AFCAT was conducted in 2018, by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing.
