The Indian Embassy in Ukraine, via its latest update, has issued an important advisory for all the Indian nationals and students presently residing in the country. Through the advisory, the Embassy has declared that alternative arrangements are being made for evacuating the Indian nationals from Ukraine. The reason why alternative arrangements have become ‘the need of the hour’ is that the Ukrainian airspace has been shut down and the schedule for special flights have been cancelled.

As such, the Embassy will provide all necessary information regarding alternative arrangements as and when the required modalities are finalized. These arrangements will help the Indian nationals to relocate to the western part of the country. Individuals have been requested to carry their passports and necessary documents with them at all times.
In addition to the guidelines, the Indian nationals have been advised to follow the official website of the Embassy along with the social media handles on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They can follow the posts regarding any updates. For reference purposes, the helpline numbers of the Embassy have been given in the advisory. The same has also been listed below.

Students Stranded
There have been instances of students being stranded at the railway station and other places. On Twitter, a video has also been circulating where the students have claimed to be stuck in the Kyiv railway station. They have requested help from the Embassy. A student was also seen to have said ‘We are not saying that we should be taken back to India right now. All we want is that the Embassy should make arrangements to transport us to a safe place.’
However, students have claimed that there has been no response from the Embassy’s end. Today, the students have also reached the office of the Indian Embassy in Kyiv and requested the officials to make at least arrangements for them to sit inside the office. As per the tweet attached below, the students have been standing in the cold since morning in -2° cold. However, they have been asked to arrange accommodation in the hotels by themselves.
