The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) is likely to declare the Class 12 Commerce results by this week tentatively. Although no official announcement has been made regarding the same so far, speculations are rife that the Class 12 Commerce results will most probably be declared by July 31, 2021.
However, once the results are out, students will be able to check the same on various websites using their seat numbers. The gseb.org portal only allows the respective schools to download the results. The schools can download the score cards of the students by entering their index numbers and passwords. Students will have to collect the results from their schools. In addition to this portal, other websites like gipl.net and gsebservice.com will remain open for viewing the results. The online-generated result will include the personal details and the marks scored by the student. The candidate must cross-check these details carefully.
This year, the evaluation process that has been adopted will put emphasis on Class 10, 11 and 12 marks in 50:25:25 ratio respectively. Based on this criteria, 50% weightage will be given on the Class 10 Board marks while 25% weightage will be based on the Class 11 marks. The remaining 25% weightage will be calculated from the various tests held during Class 12.
Students will need a minimum of 33% marks in every subject to be qualified to pass. As many as 5.43 lakh students have registered for the General (Arts and Commerce) stream. Keeping in the Covid-19 situation of the state, the Board decided to withhold the Class 12 examination for all the streams, namely Arts, Science and Commerce. The exams were supposed to be conducted from May 10 to 25, 2021, but eventually got cancelled. Moreover, the Board has already declared the results for the Science stream on July 17, 2021. As of now, it is yet to be seen whether the Commerce and Arts results are declared by this month or not.
Students who will secure low grades might have to sit for supplementary exams in order to improve their scores. However, the dates for the application of supplementary exams or purak pariksha will be released only after the declaration of the GSEB Commerce and Arts results. In 2020, the GSEB Class 12 Commerce results were declared on June 15, 2020. The overall pass percentage for Arts and Commerce was 76.29%, which was fairly better than the Science stream. As many as 269 schools got 100% results.
