West Bengal TMC Candidate List 2021 Released for Elections in January 2022 – Check All Names

According to stats, out of the four municipal corporations, Asansol is the biggest with 104 seats, Siliguri with 47 seats, Chandannagar with 33 and Bidhannagar with 41 seats.

All India Trinamool Congress has announced its list of candidates for the municipal elections which is supposedly going to take place on January 22, 2022. As per the official Facebook page, the party has announced the names of 101 candidates who will be fighting for their seats in Asansol Municipal Corporation. As of now, the elections are pending in the four municipal corporations of West Bengal i.e. Bidhannagar, Chandannagar, Asansol, and Siliguri. The list of names are given below:

The remaining four names are Sourav Majhi, Trilochan Majhi, Anjan Mondal, Shukla Acharyee, and Akshay Ghosh who would be contesting from Kulti and Asansol Dakshin respectively.

According to stats, out of the four municipal corporations, Asansol is the biggest with 104 seats, Siliguri with 47 seats, Chandannagar with 33 and Bidhannagar with 41 seats. Out of the 33 wards present in Chandannagar Municipal Corporation, authorities have selected women candidates in atleast 14 wards. For Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, 17 out of 41 seats have been given to women candidates. Out of the total 47 wards, in Siliguri, the All India Trinamool Congress has picked 18 women candidates.

As per the official Facebook page of AITMC, the party has announced the names of 227 candidates out of which 76 are women candidates. With the idea of picking the right candidate from each ward, the party has taken the help of I-pac data. Other than this, the party supremo has issued a strict warning against those candidates who are keen to use force on the people during the elections.

In a meeting preceded by the party supremo, the committee has decided to choose candidates on the basis of their clean image, winning quality, leadership qualities to strengthen the party’s image in the state and their region. In the recent elections conducted in Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the TMC recorded its victory by scoring 134 seats out of the 144 wards. Other than this, the BJP was the second largest party with 3 seats in the municipal elections.

As of now, the West Bengal state has a total of seven municipal corporations that are namely, Asansol Municipal Corporation, Bidhan Nagar Municipal Corporation, Chandannagar Municipal Corporation, Durgapur Municipal Corporation, Howrah Municipal Corporation, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, and Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
