West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Medical Officer (Specialist). The notification is released on the official website which is wbhrb.in with Advt. No.R/MO(Sp.)/ 02 (1)/1/2020. The conducting has announced a total of 1371 vacancies on temporary in nature. Interested candidates can apply for WBHRB Medical Officer recruitment from June 19, 2020, to June 29, 2020.
Interested candidates must possess MBBS degree comprised in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. With this, candidates should have postgraduate qualifications in the respective Speciality and should be registered as a Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council or any state medical council. If the candidates are appointed, they have to register their names within 06 months of the joining of West Bengal Health Service. Eligible candidates must not exceed the age limit of 40 years as on January 01, 2020.
WBHRB conducts the application procedure for Medical Officer Specialist on the official website which is wbhrb.in. After the successful registration process, a login ID and password are provided to the candidates. They have to go to the official website and login using the credentials and submit the application fee. Candidates shall submit Rs.210/- as the application fee. WBHRB accepts the application fee submitted via Net banking to the participating bank in Government Receipt Portal System(GRIPS), Government of West Bengal, under the Government Receipt Head of Account which is 0051-00-104-002-16. Candidates who belong to SC/ST category of West Bengal and the person with disability are exempted from the fee submission.
The conducting body has enlisted certain documents that candidates have to provide for the verification of the eligibility. Candidates have to provide their Medical Council Registration Certificate, Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC, Disability certificate, original documents supporting the educational qualification. Aspirants have to provide these documents whenever WBHRB asks candidates to.
This year, West Bengal Health Recruitment Board has announced total 1371 vacancies. These vacancies are divided amongst several posts advertised. For General Medicine, WBHRB has announced 162 vacancies followed by 168 vacancies of General Surgery, 121 of Gynae & Obs, 226 for Anaesthesia, 93 for Ophthalmology, 92 for Otorhinolaryngology, 07 for Dermatology, 49 for Pathology, 61 for Biochemistry, 05 for Microbiology, 141 for Paediatric Medicine, 103 for Orthopaedic Surgery, 07 for Oncology, 102 for Radiodiagnosis, 03 for Psychiatry and 31 for Medicolegal.
To select eligible candidates, WBHRB has distributed marks depending on the eligibility of the candidates. For MBBS degree included in the First Schedule OR Second Schedule OR Part II of the Third Schedule, 25 marks are allotted. 10 marks are allotted for experience as House Staff, 40 marks for Post Graduate Qualification in the respective Speciality and 10 marks for Working Experience in Government or Private Sector. The Interview round is conducted for a maximum of 15 marks. Candidates who are shortlisted for WBHRB Medical Officer posts are offered pay scale Rs.67,820/- per month.
