Indian Dental Corps is inviting the applications for the post of Short Service Commissioned Officer. Both male and female candidates are eligible to submit their representations for the post. Eligible candidates can submit their online representations for Short Service Commissioned Officer post from June 30, 2020.
Only those candidates who fulfil the specified eligibility norms can submit their application form successfully. Applicants willing to apply must not exceed 45 years of age as on December 31, 2020. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from College or University which is recognized by the Dental Council Of India. Those candidates who have MDS degree from a recognized College are also eligible to apply for the post of Indian Army Short Service Commissioned Officer.

As the name suggests, the post of Short Service Commission Officer provides service in the Indian Army for a short period. In the previous year notification, it is specified that the newly appointed Short Service Commissioned Officers have to serve a probation period of five years. After the completion of this probation, they have the option to further continue the service for 09 years. This extendable period can be assessed in two spells. First is for the period of five years and the second is for four years. The total Short Service Commission (SSC) tenure is for 14 years. The officers who are found eligible for the extension of the service based on the terms of engagement are allowed to serve Army Dental Corps as Short Service Commissioned Officer for complete 14 years in the Indian Army.
