Indian Dental Corps is inviting the applications for the post of Short Service Commissioned Officer. Both male and female candidates are eligible to submit their representations for the post. Aspirants must refer to the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar issue of June 27, 2020, to get more information about Short Service Commissioned Officer recruitment. Detailed notification for the same releases on the website, joinindianarmy.nic.in from June 30, 2020, onwards. Eligible candidates can submit their online representations for Short Service Commissioned Officer post from June 30, 2020.

Only those candidates who fulfil the specified eligibility norms can submit their application form successfully. Applicants willing to apply must not exceed 45 years of age as on December 31, 2020. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from College or University which is recognized by the Dental Council Of India. Those candidates who have MDS degree from a recognized College are also eligible to apply for the post of Indian Army Short Service Commissioned Officer.

As the name suggests, the post of Short Service Commission Officer provides service in the Indian Army for a short period. In the previous year notification, it is specified that the newly appointed Short Service Commissioned Officers have to serve a probation period of five years. After the completion of this probation, they have the option to further continue the service for 09 years. This extendable period can be assessed in two spells. First is for the period of five years and the second is for four years. The total Short Service Commission (SSC) tenure is for 14 years. The officers who are found eligible for the extension of the service based on the terms of engagement are allowed to serve Army Dental Corps as Short Service Commissioned Officer for complete 14 years in the Indian Army. This criterion may or not change this year. We suggest the candidates to check the official notification carefully before applying.

The complete recruitment process for Army Dental Corps as Short Service Commissioned Officer is conducted by the Indian Army. The Indian Army provides various ways through which aspirants can join them and serve the nation. It is one of the component of Indian Armed Forces alongside the Indian Navy and the Indian Air force. The President of India, currently Mr Ram Nath Kovind, is the Commander in Chief of the army. In 2020, the Indian Army has initiated a ‘Tour of Duty’ scheme under which open and voluntary recruitment of civilians into the force is done. Under this scheme, they can join the Indian Army for a period of three years of Short Service.
