West Bengal Health Recruitment Board has released a notification inviting eligible candidates for the post of General Duty Medical Officers. In Advt.No.R/GDMO/03(1)/1/ /2020, WBHRB has announced total 1174 vacancies for General Duty Medical Officers (G.D.M.O.s) in the West Bengal Health Service Cadre under Health & Family Welfare, Department, Government of West Bengal. The online applications start from June 19, 2020, up to June 29, 2020, on wbhrb.in.
WBHRB has announced total 1174 vacancies for the WBHRB General Duty Medical Officers recruitment. Out of these vacancies, 196 vacancies are reserved for SC category, 235 for ST category, 160 for BC Category A, 203 for SC Category B, 106 for PWD category. For unreserved category, WBHRB has advertised 275 vacancies.
In order to send the application form, candidates shall possess medical qualification as included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of Third Schedule for Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Candidates should also be registered as Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council of India or any other State Medical Council. If such candidates are selected, they must get themselves registered in the West Bengal Medical Council within 06 months of the selection of the candidate. Eligible candidates should also know how to read, write and speak the Bengali language.
Candidate’s age should not be more than 36 years as on January 01, 2020. Those who have post-graduation qualification, have their age relaxed up to 04 years that is their age should not exceed 40 years of age as on January 01, 2020. Candidates who belong to SC/ST category, the age limit is related up to 05 years, 03 years for OBC and up to 45 years of age for Person with Disability.
The conducting body activates the online application link from June 19, 2020, onwards on wbhrb.in. Candidates have to register themselves after which they get login Id and password. Candidates who belong to SC/ST of West Bengal and Person with Disability are exempted from the fee submission. However, others have to make a payment of Rs.210/- as the application fee through the mentioned gateway. They have to login and proceed to pay the application fee online. The application fee is only accepted if it is paid through the Net banking in any Bank participating in the GRIPS Government Receipt Head of Account: 0051-00-104-002-16.
The selection of candidates depends on the verification of their eligibility. For this, they have to provide certain documents whenever asked. Candidates have to produce caste certificate wherever applicable, Medical Council Registration Certificate, Disability Certificate, Original certificate supporting the educational qualification, citizenship. For each required eligibility, WBHRB has allotted marks. The conducting body has allotted 25 marks for MBBS degree included in the First Schedule OR Second Schedule OR Part II of the Third Schedule. For the Work experience in Contractual or Regular Government/Private Sector, 25 marks allotted, and 15 marks allotted are for the interview. After the eligibility verification, shortlisted candidates are offered a salary of Rs.67,820/-
