Cut-off
Coming to the cut-off marks of the written UPSC NDA 2 examination, it is expected that it is likely to remain above 350. This cut-off is, however, the minimum qualifying marks that the Commission will fix. Over the years, the cut-off marks have observed an increment. Take a look at the table given below to check out the previous years’ cut-offs.
Year | Minimum Qualifying Marks |
2020 | 355 |
2019 | 346 |
2018 | 325 |
2017 | 258 |
2016 | 229 |
To clear the sectional cut-off, the candidate has to score 25% in both Mathematics and GAT papers. This year’s Mathematics paper is reported to have a high difficulty level as compared to previous years. On the other hand, GAT was easy. Keeping this mind, the expected cut-off, as formulated by some experts, is said to be between 325 to 345.
As we can see, that back in 2018, the cut-marks had crossed 300. Following these previous year trends, it now seems that the UPSC NDA 2 cut-off 2021 is likely to remain above 350. On the other hand, educators covering this examination have expressed on various online platforms that this time, Mathematics is going to be a deciding factor while formulating the cut-off. The safe attempt is 40 questions.
In that case, experts say that the cut-off is likely to be between 345±5. However, they are expecting that the marks is likely to remain less. This assumption is purely based on the question paper analysis that they have done. Keeping factors such as overall difficulty level, lengthy and tricky questions, etc. the cut-off is somewhat expected to be between 340 to 345.
In case a candidate’s score is tentatively more than the expected cut-off, then they are on the safer side of qualifying for the UPSC NDA 2 2021 examination. Experts recommend that the ones who are having a score more than the expected cut-off, then they can start preparing for the SSB round.
