Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) successfully conducted the National Defence Academy (NDA) 2 2021 examination on November 14, 2021. The exam was held in the pen-and-paper mode at selected exam centers across the country. A total of 339 vacancies distributed across the various academies of the Indian armed forces have been announced. These arms include Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
Within 2 days of exam conduction, candidates are wondering about the NDA 2 2021 result date. As of now, UPSC has not specified any exact or tentative result date. Even the official answer key will take a few days to release on the official website upsc.gov.in. However, candidates can determine a tentative result date by looking at past-year records. Read ahead to know what happened in the last 5 years.
Previous Years’ Trend Analysis
The NDA 2 2020 examination was conducted across the country on September 06. Results were announced a month later, on October 09, 2020. Clearly, there is a 33-day gap between exam conduction and result declaration.
The year before, UPSC conducted the NDA 2 examination on November 17, 2019. Results were announced almost a month later, on December 12, 2019. Here, there’s a 25-day gap between the two consequent events.
In 2018, the recruitment exam was conducted in the pen-and-paper format on September 09. Subsequently, results were announced on November 30, 2018. Surprisingly, there was almost a three-month gap between exam conduction and result declaration. The COVID-19 pandemic has already created a delay in the recruitment exam. Hence, a 3-month delay in result declaration is highly unlikely.
The year before, UPSC conducted the NDA 2 2017 examination on September 10. Subsequently, results were announced on November 01, 2017. Here, a gap of 51 days was present between the two exam events. Such a gap is again highly unlikely for this year’s results owing to the same reason as mentioned above.
Finally, in 2016, the recruitment exam was held on September 18, in the offline format. Results were announced 54 days later, on November 11, 2016. Thus, in 2016, 2017, and 2018, there was a similar sequence of events, with a 50-60 day gap between exam conduction and result declaration. However, in 2019 and 2020, the scene is slightly different and is more likely to follow suit in 2021. Therefore, the NDA 2 2021 results are likely to come out between December 09-14, 2021. However, UPSC is yet to provide any clarity to either confirm or reject this assumption.
After the announcement of NDA 2 2021 results, selected candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. They will also have to clear the Intelligence as well as Personality test to finally get inducted for training in the Indian armed forces.
