Union Public Service Commission Indian Administrative Services exam, popularly known as IAS, took place yesterday i.e October 04, 2020. Lakhs of candidates appeared against 796 vacancies for IAS 2020 prelims at various centres across the country. To help these candidates in estimating scores and analysing exam, IASBaba has released the question paper and answers.
To get the IAS Baba analysis and answer key, candidates must browse their website which is iasbaba.com. On reaching the website, candidates have to navigate to the ‘Important Updates’ tab > “Answer key & Open Discussion: UPSC IAS Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2020-General Studies Paper I ANSWER KEY”. In case, aspirants wish to download the available General studies paper (Paper 1 and Paper 2) they have to reach the home page and tap on UPSC IAS Prelims Civil Services question paper link. These links can be located under the ‘important updates’ section. Moreover, IAS Baba has provided the downloadable PDF links on their page as well.
On downloading the IAS Baba UPSC IAS answer key and question paper, candidates must utilize it to the fullest. They can estimate their score and get the measure of their chances for qualifying prelims round. Each question of General Studies Paper 1 carries 100 questions with 02 marks. Similarly, General Studies Paper-II consists of 80 questions with 2.5 marks for each question. While calculating the marked keeping mind that there is a negative marking of 0.33 marks.
These estimate scores may or may not vary with the final IAS result. Once the official IAS 2020 answer key is out, candidates can use that as well for a better interpretation of raw scores.
To predict whether candidates have chances of the selection they can compare their raw scores with previous year cutoff scores. Last year, the cutoff marks for General candidates for Civil Services prelims was 98.00. EWS candidates have to secure at least 90.00 marks to appear for mains examination. The cut-off marks for OBC, SC, ST were 95.34, 52.00 and 77.34 respectively. However, IAS mentors have pointed that this year, IAS 2020 cutoff may not increase due to pandemic and other reasons.
Candidates qualifying Civil Service Prelims examination can appear for Mains examination. We can expect that UPSC will release IAS prelims result 2020 in the month of November 2020 as per previous year trends. Qualifying candidates can further appear for IAS Mains and IFS Mains examination. The IAS Mains examination scheduled for 05 days i.e on January, 08, 09, 10, 11 & 12, 2021. IFS Mains Examination will take place from February 28, 2021 to March 09, 2021 (for 10 days).
