UP CM Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting on October 11, 2021, to ensure that there is a continuous supply of electricity in the rural and urban areas of the state from 6 pm to 7 am. He stressed the fact that with the commencement of festive seasons, it is crucial that the power supply is provided without any interruption.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the status of the electricity system in the state at his official residence via a video conference call. The review meeting was joined by Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, A.D.G., senior officers of the Electricity Department. The CM ordered brief scrutiny of the coal power plants and supply must be held and the officers must take relevant steps to ensure that power plants are supplied with an adequate amount of coal.
Yogi Adityanath, CM UP also had a detailed review meeting with senior officers of Purvanchal, Madhyaanchal, Dakshinanchal, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and KESCO regarding the power system. He then released orders to all the Vidyut Vitran Nigams to maintain an adequate power supply system and avoid black-outs.

Further, the CM talked about the various issues faced by consumers during the payment of electricity bills. In order to make sure that the collections of electricity bills do not suffer, offers must take strict actions against the electricity billing agencies. All those agencies who are found guilty of any kind of malicious practices must be stripped of their licenses and an FIR must be registered against them.
The Chief Minister then discussed the Saubhagya Yojana related to farmers and said that all the major cases concerning this scheme must be solved in a time-bound manner. He ordered the officials to take timely action regarding the farmer’s subsidy and any farmer who wishes to opt for a tubewell connection must be provided with the same immediately.
The Chief Minister said that the Managing Directors of all Electricity Distribution Corporations should work by fixing accountability at the feeder level in relation to the instructions given in the meeting. The Chairman of UPPCL is also required to conduct a review meeting every day by Vidyut Vitran Nigam. Furthermore, the progress should be reviewed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and the report should be made available to the Minister of Energy. The entire process’s report must be reviewed and monitored on a weekly basis by the Energy Minister.

Guruprasad, Information Director Mr Shishir and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
