The exam conducting body has not disclosed the exact date for releasing answer keys, however looking at the release date of the latest NTA exam answer key, today seems to be the probable date.
The first exam conducted by NTA for 2020 admissions session was IIFT MBA IB entrance exam; it was held on December 1, 2019. Its answer key was released on the very next day, December 2, 2019. Thereafter answer key challenge process was open from December 3 to 5, 2019. For this reason the expected date for release of UGC NET answer keys is today.
NTA UGC NET Dec 2019 has been conducted successfully from December 2 to 6, 2019. While few unofficial memory based question papers with answer keys are available online already, candidates need to check the official version to know the exact answers. Besides, unofficial answer keys are unfortunately not available for all 81 subjects.
For the UGC NET June 2019 exam, NTA had released the first version of the answer key on July 1, after conducting the exams from June 20 to 26, a total of 5 days after the last exam. If the same schedule is followed this time then answer key for the December 2019 exams will not be released, then they will be available by December 11, 2019. However NTA has been moving towards sped up processes, and there are high chances of the exam solutions becoming available today only.
When available, candidates will not only be able to check the question paper, answer key, they will also be able to challenge the provisional keys which will remain available for download for at least 2-3 days. A notification regarding exact dates will be made available at nta.ac.in.
To challenge a question, Rs 1000 will be changed. The same amount has to be paid per question, for challenging any number of questions.
While some organizations release a master question paper with answers, NTA provides exam answer keys via login. Candidates will need to login with their application number and password in order to view the questions asked, and correct answers.
It may be noted that the same duration in which answer key will be available, candidate responses may also be displayed.
A total of 10,34,872 candidates had registered to appear in UGC NET Dec 2019. 200 city coordinators and 600 observers were placed to monitor smooth proceedings of the exam. There was live CCTV surveillance at 700 exam centres to combat attempts of miscreants. More than 1450 CCTV cameras for each shift were installed.
Using the UGC NET answer keys, candidates can predict their marks. Paper 1 had 50 questions of 100 marks, thus 2 marks per question. The same marking scheme applies to paper 2 that had 100 questions of 200 marks. There is no negative marking in UGC NET.
NTA will declare UGC NET result by December 31, 2019.
