As per latest reports by India TV News, the 2021 Telangana State Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) exam date is going to be scheduled after June 14. The popular media house cited key officials claiming that the TS EAMCET 2021 syllabus is going to be based on the syllabus of 2-year intermediate. The syllabus is going to be reduced by 30 per cent.
Telangana State EAMCET is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, in Hyderabad. JNTU-H conducts the yearly entrance exam on behalf of the Telanagana State State Council of Higher Education. The annual state level exam is conducted for admission to Engineering, Medical and Agriculture programs in colleges of the state.
India TV News quoted officials saying that the TS EAMCET 2021 exam is to be conducted after June 14, 2021. Conventionally, the TS EAMCET exam is conducted in the month of May. However during the previous year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam was delayed and conducted in the month of September. In 2021, as board exams are to be held in April/May 2021, many UG entrance exams are being rescheduled to take place post mid-June, 2021.
Reportedly, more than two lakh candidates registered for the previous year TS EAMCET exam. Among these, 30% of the candidates could not take the test due to the pandemic.
India TV News also reported on the syllabus of TS EAMCET 2021. The media house quoted State Principal Secretary (Education) Chitra Ramchandran that the TS EAMCET 2021 syllabus is to be as per 2 years syllabus of Intermediate. However, the syllabus is reduced by 30%. In other words, the syllabus is as per 100% of the Intermediate syllabus of 1st year and 70% of the Intermediate syllabus of 2nd year. The officials were reported commenting on the decision to reduce the syllabus. The syllabus has been reduced in light of the impact of the pandemic on the academic year.
Ramachandran also clarified that there will be no change in the intermediate marks weightage in EAMCET 2021. Selection of candidates for final merit lists is to be done on the basis of marks in Intermediate (Class 12 Board Exams) and TS EAMCET exam. In this context, it may be noted that the Board exams carry 25% of the marks weightage while 75% of marks weightage is carried by the TS EAMCET 2021 entrance test.
TS EAMCET 2021 registrations are expected to start by the first week of March 2021. Now with the latest media reports, the exam is scheduled to be held after June 14, 2021. Candidates are advised to keep a regular tab on the official website eamcet.tsche.ac.in for all latest updates of this exam.
