India Post has published an official notification for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks for Cycle-III/2020-2021 in Tamil Nadu. Applications are invited by the respective engaging authorities under which the vacancies are available. The profile includes the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. The last date of submission of online applications at the website appost.in/gdsonline is September 30, 2020. Class 10th pass candidates having knowledge of the local language are encouraged to go through the recruitment notice and apply for the recruitment.
As per the official notification, a total of 3162 vacancies are available in the Tamil Nadu Circle. The vacancies are available under different engaging authorities within the Tamil Nadu Circle. The post involves three types of job profiles i.e. Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. Candidates can apply for up to 20 posts all over India per cycle. Selected candidates are to be paid Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA). TRCA for BPM post is RS 14000 for 4 hours/Level-1 and Rs 14500 for 5 hours/Level-2. Candidates appointed to ABPM and Dak Sevak Posts will receive TRCA of Rs RS 10000 for 4 hours/Level-1 and Rs 12000 for 5 hours/Level-2.
Candidates must meet the specified minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. Candidates within the age range of 18 to 40 years as on September 01, 2020, are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Relaxations are however applicable for candidates belonging to special reserved categories. Applicants must have passed Class 10th with passing marks in Mathematics, Local Language and English. Selected candidates will have to furnish a certificate of Basic Computer Training of a minimum duration of 60 days.
Candidates applying for the post of BPM has to provide accommodation for Branch Post Office after selection but before the engagement. The standards of the accommodation such as the location, size, approach, structure, power supply and other specifications are indicated in the official recruitment notice. It is a mandatory pre-requisite for all candidates to have knowledge of cycling. One must submit a declaration acknowledging the same. A security amount of Rs 100000 must be deposited for the post of BPM and other approved categories of GDS.
Unreserved candidates, EWS Male and trans-man candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 100 in order to apply for each set of five options. Female, Transwoman, SC/St and PWD candidates are exempted from the payment of any application fee.
