50 Vacancies Out for SMC Medical Officer and Laboratory Technician, Last Date To Apply is Sept 20!

Surat Municipal Corporation is inviting applications from MBBS/ B. Sc candidates for Medical Officer & Lab Technician posts on temporary basis.

Surat Municipal Corporation has released an official notification for the recruitment of Medical Officer and Laboratory Technician. Candidates can download the recruitment notification from the official website, suratmunicipal.gov.in. SMC has announced a total of 50 vacancies for the said posts. Eligible and interested candidates are advised to submit their applications before September 20, 2020.

Out of the total 50 vacancies, 25 vacancies are announced for Medical Officer and 25 vacancies are announced for Laboratory Technician post. The recruitment to these posts is completely on a temporary basis. Aspirants are recruited for 03 months or till the time COVID-19 pandemic is under control (whichever is earlier). The newly recruited Medical Officer and Laboratory Technician will be posted at Surat Municipal Corporation run Schmeier Medical College and Hospital, and at various designated health care centres. As per the notification, those who are appointed as Medical Officer gets Rs. 30,000/- and Laboratory Technician gets Rs. 15,000/- as fixed monthly salary.

Interested candidates can submit their applications only if they are eligible as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by Surat Municipal Corporation. Candidates who intend to apply for Medical Officer post should have MBBS degree examination. Those who possess B. Sc (With Chemistry / Microbiology subject) or M.Sc. (Organic chemistry / Microbiology) are eligible to apply for Laboratory Technician post. Moreover, they should have passed the Laboratory Technician Training Course from a recognized institute.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications as per the schedule specified by SMC. The applications form should be sent to Room No. 114, Central Establishment (Recruitment) Department, Head Office of Surat Municipal Corporation before the last date Along with the application form candidates are also advised to submit original certificates, certified copies and photographs. The documents that candidates must carry are the date of birth proof, essential educational qualification certificate and marks sheets, Laboratory Technician Training Course certificate for this applying for Lab Technician and others.

Surat Municipal Corporation is entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the recruitment procedure for Medical Officer, Lab Technician and others to fight COVID-19. Candidates can get information about other SMC recruitment by visiting the website, suratmunicipal.gov.in, and clicking on the ‘recruitment’ section. Other than the recruitment, it provides facilities such as the Education, Tax Collection, Performing Art Centre, Amusement and Sports facility, Science Centre. It also takes care of the tax collection, development of town and cities of Gujarat state and Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education & Research (SMIMER).
