The State Health Society, Bihar is inviting online application form for a certificate course in Community Health for GNM/B.Sc Nursing. The course is conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for 06 months. After the successful completion of the course, candidates are recruited for 1050 announced GNM/B.Sc Nurses posts. The course detail and other necessary information are available in the official notification with Advt. No. 05/2020. Interested candidates can send their online applications on or before July 14, 2020, through statehealthsocietybihar.org.
Candidates who are working as regular Staff Nurse GNM/B.Sc Nursing or as contractual staff Nurse/GNM or a fresh GNM/B.Sc Nursing, General Nurse and Midwifery are eligible to apply for the course. These candidates should also have permanent registration from Bihar Nursing Registration Council or Indian Nursing Council or any State Nursing council. The minimum required age is 21 years as on January 01, 2020. However, the maximum age limit is different for different categories. Candidates who belong to Unreserved and EWS category shall not exceed the age limit of 42 years. Those who belong to BC/MBC (M&F)/UR female/EWS female, the maximum age limit is 45 years. And for SC/ST male and female shall not exceed the upper age limit of 47 years.
The certificate course in Community Health is organized by IGNOU for the academic session of July 2020 to December 2020. On the successful completion, candidates are recruited at the Health and Wellness Centres as Community Health Officers (CHOs). Under this post, the shortlisted candidates have to lead a team of primary health care provider that consists of female Health care workers, male health care workers, ASHAs, and others. To get shortlisted they must secure minimum 50% marks separately in internal as well as in final evaluation in each theory and practical paper. Candidates shall also perform 18 days rotating internships, that are offered in District Hospitals, to increase their chances for the selection.
However, the final recruitment for the announced posts is based on the marks secured in the Computer Based Test. Multiple Choice questions are asked in the CBT round of selection process. Candidates have to obtain minimum 30% marks to appear for the document verification round. They shall carry the original certificates with self-attested copies of date of birth certificate, educational certificates, caste certificate, domicile certificate, non-creamy layer certificate, EWS certificate. All these documents are scrutinised by the conducting body. After the final selection, candidates have to sign a bond as per which they have to serve a minimum 03 years after the completion of the certification course of Community Health.
