Shiv Nadar University is India’s leading research-driven, multidisciplinary university. It conducted its annual fest that concluded successfully on February 10, 2019. This annual fest of Shiv Nadar University is called Breeze 2019. It is an annual inter-college festival held at the University’s 286-acre campus in the National Capital Region.
The fest started on February 08, 2019. It was power-packed with live performances and an array of cultural, technical and sports events with participation from more than 15000 students from over 100 institutes across the country.
Breeze is a platform for all the college students to come together to showcase their creative side. It provides the students with an opportunity to take some time off from their academic routine and participate in the fun-filled extravaganza. The audience at the fest were from a diverse crowd of people consisting of students, families of Shiv Nadar University, corporate professionals and members of HCL as well as Shiv Nadar Foundation.

The theme of this year’s fest was ‘Break The Internet’. The idea of viral content has become the epitome of internet culture and the students wanted to bring the same intensity and community to Breeze this year. The event comprised activities organized by over 50 clubs on campus. The cultural events included categories ranging from the performing arts like dance, music, drama, and oration to many more spheres like business, gaming, literature, and art.
The India Film Project in collaboration with Shiv Nadar University conducted a workshop on the nuances of film-making. Participants were taken through the basics of setting up a film, the content and conflicts involved and finally the resolution. Pre and post-production aspects were also discussed in detail.
Myriad technical events involved activities around coding, design, robotics etc. The zeal of the fest was
evident on the field as it was in auditoriums and halls, with sports including but not limited to badminton, football, tennis and martial arts as well as indoor sports like chess and table tennis.
To add to the excitement, the University hosted performances by renowned artists every evening during the course of the Fest. Shiv Nadar University in association with HCL Concerts hosted Mrigya, one of India’s most premier and prodigious World-Fusion ensembles on day one.
Vibha Saraf performed with the band as a guest artist. She is the voice behind the song ‘Dilbaro’, from the movie, Raazi and ‘kab se kab tak’ (Gullyboy).
Day two saw stand-up performances by the Comicstaan duo, Nishant Suri and Rahul Dua. The audience also witnessed a performance by ‘when chai met toast’, the newest band from Kerala with infectious happy music, that transcends age, genre and even language.
