SGPGI Lucknow Cancels Nursing Officer, Hospital Attendant Exams Held on November 1; New Dates Awaited

AglaSem News: Govt Jobs

The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, has cancelled the Stage-2 written exams for Nursing Officer and Hospital Attendant Grade-II that were held on 1 November 2026. New exam dates will be announced later, the institute said.

The exams were part of SGPGIMS recruitment under Advertisement No. I-08/1-12/Rectt/2025-26 and were held offline in Lucknow. Hindustan Times reported that about 8,500 candidates were affected and that the cancellation has led to a probe by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF).

What SGPGIMS said

The institute’s examination cell issued three notices on 1 November:

  • Hospital Attendant Grade-II, three centres: the exam held that day at SDSN Degree College, SDSN Public School and Juris College of Law in Chhota Bharwara, Gomti Nagar, was cancelled “due to operational issues on the part of the conducting agency”.
  • Hospital Attendant Grade-II, all centres: the Stage-2 exam “stands cancelled” due to unavoidable circumstances.
  • Nursing Officer: the Stage-2 exam scheduled that day was also cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances.

The notices were copied to Central Electronics Limited (CEL), named as the agency concerned. They do not give a reason beyond “operational issues” and “unavoidable circumstances”.

What candidates should do

  • Keep your admit card and Stage-2 documents. The institute has said only that the new date will be notified; it has not said whether fresh admit cards will be issued.
  • Check only the official website. Notices are posted under the examination cell section of sgpgims.org.in. Ignore dates circulating on social media until the institute confirms them.
  • Do not pay anyone who promises a seat or a result. Report such calls or messages to the institute and the police.
