As per the notification of the RRC Central Railway, the PET will conduct from March 27, 2019, onwards in multiple batches. Whereas, PET will take place from March 25, 2019, for the shortlisted students who have chosen the RRC North Eastern zone. The exam dates for PET may vary for each of the RRCs.
Candidates who have been shortlisted for the round of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) must know the major change in the recruitment process. Now, the Physical Test, Document Verification and Medical Fitness Test are going to be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) rather than RRB.
The number of candidates shortlisted for PET round is three times the number of vacancies. Candidates belonging to PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) category are exempted from the PET round. So, the roll number of those candidates are not included in the merit list. But on the scorecard, PwBD category candidates will get to know the normalized marks and their qualifying status.
Candidates are going to be intimidated about the PET admit card on their registered contact details. The North Eastern zone will issue the admit card 10 days before the PET exam date. The Central Railway has not specified the exact date for the issuance of the admit card but the download link will be available soon at rrccr.gov.in.
In PET, male candidates have to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 Min 15 Sec. Females have to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 Min 40 Sec. Applicants have to also lift the weight without putting it down. For weight lifting, candidates are going to get 2 Minutes. Candidates clearing the PET round will be called for the round of Document Verification. In this round, candidates have to bring the necessary documents at the allotted date and time. Aspirants have to bring original as well as two sets of self-attested photocopies of the documents. In case a candidate fails to bring the relevant documents then it will lead to the cancellation of the candidature. The appointment of the candidates will be done on passing the requisite medical exam conducted at the Railway Hospitals.
