Railway Recruitment Board has activated the exam city and date intimation link via official websites of the RRBs. All candidates, whose RRB JE CBT 2 was postponed as per previous notices, can login to check their exam city, and if applicable, download train travel authority. The admit card for re-scheduled exam will release five days from now that is on September 15, 2019. Exam will be held on September 19, 2019. Mock test for the exam has also been activated.
To check the city intimation, candidates need to visit rrbonline.reg.in. There, click on the link “City Intimation / Free Travel Authority and Mock Test for rescheduled candidates of CBT stage 2”. Then select between RRB Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Kolkata, RRB Malda. Enter registration number and date of birth thereafter to login and know the city where your exam will be held. Please note that exam center will be intimated via the call letter.
Previously downloaded admit cards will not be valid for the rescheduled exam. Rest of the details of the exam such as pattern, syllabus, and other aspects however remain same as it was for the others. RRBs have conducted the second stage computer based test for Junior Engineer recruitment against CEN 02/2018 from August 28 to September 1.
The computer based test for postponed exams will also be of two hours, with 150 multiple choice questions. Negative marking shall be 1/3 for every incorrect answer. A notification to this effect, about the rescheduled exam and new dates, new admit card, is available on the official websites of RRBs.
RRB JE CBT 2 has been rescheduled only at a few centres. Hence all candidates need not concern themselves with the new notification. It is also critical to note that exam at all centres were held successfully.
RRB JE 2nd Stage CBT has been rescheduled, owing to technical reasons cited by the Railways. However it is worthy to note that on the first day of second stage exam, there were multiple reports of issues at few centres – wherein candidates alleged paper leak, and absence of invigilators. Nevertheless the cases were not clarified by Ministry of Railways through notifications or reports. The online examination is being held for recruitment for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer – Information Technology (JE-IT), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA).
The RRB JE 2nd Stage CBT, a 120-minute paper will have 150 questions of one mark each. The questions will be of multiple-choice answer type, covering the following sections – general awareness, physics and chemistry, basic computers, basic environment and pollution, and technical abilities. While general awareness, and physics and chemistry papers will carry 15 questions each, basics of computers and basics of environment section will carry 10 questions each, wherein 100 marks will be allotted to technical abilities section.
Further, the candidates can be allowed to use virtual calculator in the RRB JE 2nd Stage CBT.
The Unreserved category candidates will have to score at least 60 marks of the total 150 marks to be considered qualified in the RRB JE 2nd Stage CBT. Those belonging to OBC, SC and ST categories will need to secure a minimum of 30 marks, 30 marks and 25 marks, each to be considered qualifying the 2nd stage CBT of RRB JE examination. Subject to it, candidates will be shortlisted on basis of merit.
According to the official statistics, the number of candidates appearing in the RRB JE 2nd Stage CBT is as many as 15 times the community-wise total vacancy of the posts.
