RRB Group D Recruitment: All the Changes You Need to Know

One of the biggest Railway Recruitment, RRB Group D, is now open for all. Earlier, the eligibility criteria demanded that the candidate should be 10 pass + ITI or 10 pass + NCVT qualified for the recruitment. After much agitation, the eligibility has been lowered to class 10th qualified. The candidates who are now eligible can apply until March 31, 2018. Regarding the same, the RRB has also released a notice, the highlights of which are as follows:

# Increased Upper Age Limit

The age limit has been increased by 2 years. As per the initial notice, the age of the candidate should be between 18 to 31 years. However, now the candidate’s age limit is between 18 to 33 years. The increased upper age limit for the candidates belonging to UR, OBC, SC, and ST category is 33, 36, 38, and 38 years, as on:

# Date and Time for Application Process Ending

The RRB Group D registration will end on March 31, 2018, at 11:59 pm. The application form can only be submitted online, from any website of RRB. There are 16 RRBs, RRB Ahmedabad, RRB Ajmer, RRB Allahabad, RRB Bengaluru, RRB Bhopal, RRB Bhubaneshwar, RRB Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Chennai, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Guwahati, RRB Kolkata, RRB Mumbai, RRB Patna, RRB Ranchi, and RRB Secunderabad.

# Fee Concession and Deadline to Pay

The application fee is Rs. 500. However, candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economic Backward Class have to pay Rs. 250. The reserved category candidates will be refunded complete fee amount, on appearing for CBT. As per the new notice, the candidates under general category will also be refunded Rs. 400, on appearing for CBT

Note: The get the fee refund the candidates have to Account holder name, Account Number and IFSC code in the online application.

Through online mode, the last date and time to pay the fee amount is March 30, 2018, until 11:59 PM. Whereas, via SBI Bank Challan the amount has to be paid by March 28, 2018, until 3:00 PM. Also, the deadline to pay the fee via Post Office Challan is March 27, 2018, until 3:00 PM.

# Signature in Regional Languages

Earlier RRB demanded that the signature of the candidates, in all the documents, should be in English or Hindi language. However, this norm has been removed. The signature can be any language but it should not be completely in capital letters and must be the same throughout the recruitment.

# Modification Fee Refund

In RRB Group D Recruitment 2018 candidates could do the modification twice in the application form, by remitting Rs. 250. The amount of modification has been reduced to Rs. 100 and Rs. 150 shall be refunded to the candidate’s beneficiary account.

# The Language of the Exam

The question paper will now be provided in 15 languages. These languages are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and English.

# New Norms for PwD Candidates

There are new norms for the Physically Disabled candidates. As per these, the benchmark disabilities are blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.

Only those candidates will be considered under the PwD category who are more than 40% disabled. During the document verification, the candidates will have to produce a Certificate of Disability issued by the Competent Authority. The certificate must be…

…as per the form V, VI and VII of rule 18(1) under chapter 7 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 dated 15.06.2017. Refer Annexure V(A), V(B) and V(C) of this corrigendum for the revised formats. – As Mentioned Notice.

The existing certificate of disability under the Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 will also be considered valid. Also, candidates with Leprosy cured, dwarfism and acid attack victim were not mentioned in the notice earlier but now they are also allowed to apply Set featured imageagainst the suitable post.

These were all the changes notified by the Railway Board regarding RRB Group D Recruitment. Candidates who wish to make changes as per the new norms need to login and do so.
