Since RRB has confirmed that now class 10th candidates can also apply for RRB Group D Recruitment 2018 there is a sense of glee and ease among the aspirants. The candidates who could not apply earlier due to age or eligibility restrictions can do so now, from February 28 to March 31, 2018. So, here are certain things that one must know before applying.
First of all, the registration for Group D can only be done online, from any website of Railway Recruitment Board. In order to apply, the candidates will have to choose an RRB. It is important to choose the RRB carefully because it cannot be changed.
There are total 16 RRBs, which are RRB Ahmedabad, RRB Ajmer, RRB Allahabad, RRB Bengaluru, RRB Bhopal, RRB Bhubaneshwar, RRB Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Chennai, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Guwahati, RRB Kolkata, RRB Mumbai, RRB Patna, RRB Ranchi, and RRB Secunderabad.
Once the RRB has been selected, read all the instruction and move ahead by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. Now, the candidates will have to fill the registration form.
In the registration, form candidates will have to furnish details like Name, Aadhaar Card Status, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, E-mail Id, etc.
Next, the candidates will have to fill the personal, educational, and other details in the application form.
It is vital to pay the application fee. The amount of fee is Rs. 500 but the for the candidates of Sc / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PwD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class category it is Rs. 250. The mode to pay the fee is Net Banking, Debit Card / Credit Card, SBI Challan and Post Office Challan.
To select the candidates for the recruitment, the RRB will first conduct Computer Based Test. Candidates who will qualify it will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by the Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates.
The RRB Group D CBT will be a 90 minutes examination, in which the candidates will have to solve 100 questions on Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, GeneralSciencee, and General Awareness on Current Affairs. To qualify the examination, the UR candidates will have to secure 40% marks, whereas, for the OBC, SC, and ST candidates the minimum cutoff is 30% marks.
The syllabus for Mathematics includes: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
Candidates preparing for General Intelligence and Reasoning need to cover Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
For General Science candidates will have to study Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of the class 10th level. Whereas, for General Awareness, keep track of the current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.
Candidates who will qualify CBT will be called for PET. In PET, the male candidates will have to carry 35 kg weight and cover 100 meters in 2 minutes and in one chance, without putting the weight down. Also, they will have to run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds and in one go.
As far as the female candidates are concerned, in PET they will have to carry 20 kg weight and cover 100 meters in 2 minutes, without putting the weight down. Just like the male candidates, they will also have to run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds, without stopping.
The candidates who get through PET are called for the Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates. Here, the eligibility of the candidates will be ensured by checking all the documents. Also, if the merit of two or more candidates will be same then the older candidates will be given the higer rank. Hope this was useful to you. OBC-NCL – 36
SC – 38
ST – 38
