RGUHS Exam Postponed

In light of the ongoing protests against CAB, in Karnataka, RGUHS as well as VTU has postponed some of its semester exams. The exams that were scheduled for today have been deferred for a later date.

Students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, as well as Visvesvaraya Technological University can check the latest notices on the university websites, rguhs.ac.in and vtu.ac.in respectively.

RGUHS exam postponement notification says, “Due to ongoing protest against the CAB, the scheduled theory exams (Medical / Dental) on 20.12.2019 has been postponed and new dates will be announced in due course of time.”

VTU notifies, regarding postponement of exams scheduled on December 20, 2019, “In view of the announcement of curfew and declaration of holiday for schools and colleges in Mangaluru, VTU examinations scheduled on 20th December 2019 are postponed. The revised time table will be announced shortly.”

Visvesvaraya Technological University has also rescheduled some other exam dates, unrelated to the CAB protests. For exam scheme BE 2015, subject codes 15**35 subject of all branches, which were earlier scheduled to be held on January 1, 2020 from 2 pm to 5 pm will now be held on January 29, 2020 from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Regarding centre, timings, hall ticket requirement for rescheduled dates, students may contact the varsity officials.

Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act have taken a grip over the state. Universities have had to resort to changing their exam timetables for administrative and logistical reasons.

Wherever exams have been postponed, if the next exam dates happen to be much later than usual, then it may affect declaration of results. However universities will take multiple steps to ensure that students get a safe and peaceful environment to sit for their exams, that being the priority at the moment; and evaluation and results processes could be expedited later on.

Karnataka is home to a number of educational institutions, that hold repute and ranking on national level. State universities, private universities, deemed to be universities, central universities, and institutes of national importance are around 72 in number.

Besides RGUHS, VTU, students of other universities who have their exams today or in coming days, may refer to their varsity websites or talk to their officials to know the status of exams in their colleges.
