Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is inviting applications from the eligible candidates for the posts of Sub Divisional Engineers. The recruitment is organized to fill up 50 vacant posts for the Sub-divisional Engineers in the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Punjab. Candidates who get shortlisted gets paid under the pay scale of Rs. 15600 – 39100 + 5400. Candidates who have an Engineering degree in Civil or Mechanical from a recognized university can submit their application for the announced post. Plus, they must have passed 10th standard with Punjabi language subject or equivalent. Candidates should have attained the minimum age limit of 18 years and should not exceed the upper age limit of 37 years. PPSC calculates the age of the candidates as on January 01, 2020. The age relaxations are provided to reserved category candidates as per the Punjab Government reservation rules. Candidates must read the detailed advertisement to know more details.
The applications are accepted through an online process only. Candidates should visit the official website, ppsc.gov.in to submit the online application. They can get the link for online registration and application under the ‘online registration’ section. Fill up the application form carefully as no edits are allowed after the final submission. Candidates who belong to SC/ST of all states and OBC of Punjab state have to pay Rs. 1125/-, Ex-servicemen of Punjab have to pay Rs. 500/-, a person with disability of Punjab state have to pay Rs.1750/-, and all the other category candidates have to pay Rs. 3000/- as the application fee. The application fee must be submitted through SBI bank challan only.
The selection of the candidates is based on the competitive examination conducted by PPSC. The commission has scheduled the examination tentatively in November 2020. The written examination is conducted for 300 marks. The question paper carries 120 questions with 2.5 marks each. The topics that are included in the syllabus is as follows, Syllabus of the Subject, Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability/General Knowledge and Current affairs. To get the detailed syllabus for the written competitive examination, candidates must visit the official website. The written examination is followed by the interview round. This round carries 40 marks. The final result is prepared on the basis of the written exam and interview round.
