POWERGRID Apprenticeship Recruitment 2020: 283 Vacancies Announced for Southern and Western Region

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited brings a golden opportunity for young engineering degree, diploma and ITI certificate holders. The Maharatna company is recruiting eligible candidates for apprenticeship training at different regions of its operation. Powergrid has published individual notifications detailing the available vacancies and eligibility conditions to apply for recruitment in the respective region. The notices are available at the official website i.e. powergridindia.com. There are 119 vacancies in the Southern Region Transmission System-II (SRTS-II), 67 vacancies in the Southern Region Transmission System-I (SRTS-I), and 97 vacancies in the Western Region Transmission System-II (WRTS-II). The Public Sector Undertaking has prescribed separate schedules to apply for recruitment into each region. The application window for SRTS-II will be open between June 09 to 29, 2020. On the other hand, the last date to apply online for SRTS-I is on or before July 05, 2020, while that of WRTS-II is July 04, 2020.

The openings have been advertised for candidates having a graduate degree in relevant engineering streams, or diploma in relevant trades or a certificate of Industrial Training Institute (ITI). In addition, there are vacancies for apprenticeship training in the Executive (HR) & Assistant (HR) posts. Candidates wishing to apply for any of these regions must have obtained their qualification not earlier than two years from the date of publication of the advertisements. Once candidates have ensured that they are compliant with the prescribed eligibility conditions, they can fill up the online application forms available for each region’s recruitment at the official Powergrid website i.e. powergridindia.com.

In SRTS-I, the 67 vacancies are bifurcated among Electrical(08) & Civil(05) degree holders, Electrical(26) & Civil(05) diploma holders, MBA/MSW/PG Diploma in PM & IR(03) holders, BA/BBA(04) degree holders and ITI Electrical(16) certificate holders. In SRTS-II, the 119 vacancies are bifurcated among Electrical(22), Civil(05) & Electronics/Telecommunication(11) degree holders, Electrical(26) & Civil(11) diploma holders, BA/BBA(14) degree holders and ITI Electrical(30) certificate holders. In WRTS-II, the 97 vacancies are bifurcated among Electrical(07), Civil(10) & Electronics/Telecommunication(07) degree holders, Executive HR(07) post, Electrical(22) & Civil(20) diploma holders and ITI Electrical(24) certificate holders.

After applying online, selected candidates will be shortlisted as per the procedure of Powergrid and appointed in select cities of the respective region against a monthly stipend. Applicants shortlisted for SRTS-I will be appointed for a period of 01 years in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Raichur & Koppal in Karnataka. Applicants selected for SRTS-II will be appointed for a period of 01 years in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Applicants shortlisted for WRTS-II will be appointed for a period of 01 years in the state of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Diu Daman & Dadara Nagar Haveli.

In all regions, the appointed candidates will be entitled to receive fixed monthly stipend. Graduate degree holders will receive stipend of Rs 15000 while diploma holders will receive monthly stipend of Rs 12000. Those who are selected for ITI positions will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 11000. Executive (HR) posts are entitled for a monthly stipend of Rs 15000 while Assistant (HR) posts are entitled to a fixed monthly stipend of Rs 12000.
