Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) has successfully concluded the application procedure for the REET 2021 examination. The state-level Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teacher (REET) is scheduled for April 25, 2021. Call letters for the same will be available from April 14, 2021, onwards online at rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in. However, it is brought to notice that as per Gazette, Mahavir Jayanti is falling on the same day. National Commission for Minorities has asked BSER to reschedule the REET 2021 Exam.

REET examination is taking place after a lot of postponement and delay from the past year. It was earlier scheduled to take place last year on August 02, 2020. It was postponed and BSER finally announced the examination date for April 25, 2021. The exam will take place in two shifts – 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM for Paper 1 and 02:30 PM to 05:00 PM for Paper 2.
As per the official calendar for the 2021 year, it is noticed that Mahavir Jayanti is falling on the same day as the REET 2021 Exam Date. As per the vogue, competitive examinations takes place on Saturdays and Sundays and non-religious non-gazetted holidays. So, the National Commission for Minorities has asked BSER to change the examination to safeguard the interests of the Jain Minority community. The Commission now awaits the final decision of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan.
Moreover, the REET exam is a state level examination to check the eligibility of candidates for the teaching posts. Aspirants who qualify for the REET exam become eligible to apply for various teaching posts in government-aided and public schools. Also, the conducting body has announced that candidates who qualify REET exam can participate in the recruitment to 31,000 teachers vacancies. Candidates have to secure a minimum of 60% marks in order to clear for the REET exam. They will get a TET pass certificate using which they can apply for the vacant teacher’s posts in the state.
BSE Rajasthan conducts 2 separate examinations for Class 1 to 5 and Class 6 to 8 teachers. Those who wish to be a teach children of class 1 to 5 have to appear for Paper 1. Paper 2 takes place for teachers of Class 6 to 8. Both the papers are conducted in offline mode that is OMR based examination. There will be 5 sections in Paper 1 whereas, in Paper 2, candidates have to attempt questions from 4 sections. Furthermore, there will be 150 MCQ in each Paper. Candidates will get 02 hours and 30 minutes to attempt questions.
