NEET 2021

Soon after the exam dates for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 was announced, several exam related notices went viral on social media. One of these was for NEET 2021 new exam pattern. The notice, seemingly legit, provided a new exam pattern for the exam. It created a frenzy among the aspirants and the experts who sought official confirmation for it. However, recently a tweet from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check’s official tweeter handle has confirmed that this notice is fake.

The tweet from the PIB Fact Check account is shown below. It reads, “#FakeAlert Several posts claiming that @DG_NTA has released the exam pattern of #NEET2021 are doing the rounds on social media #PIBFactCheck: This exam pattern is #Fake & not released by NTA. For updates, visit the NTA’s official website: nta.ac.in”

As per the fake notice, the new pattern of the NEET 2021 exam included 50 questions each from physics, chemistry, botany, and zoology. Out of the 50 questions in each section 10 are Numerical types, of which candidates can attempt any 5. The total marks on the paper are 720.

As per PIB the pattern has not been announced by NTA. The exam pattern of NEET thus remains unannounced as of now. However, it is sure that NEET 2021 will be an offline exam and the syllabus of the exam remains unchanged.

As per last year, NEET exam pattern is as follow:

There are 180 questions in the exam. The candidates are given 3 hours to complete the full paper. Each question will carry 4 marks and the incorrect questions will lead to a deduction of 1 mark. The total marks allotted in NEET are 720 marks. There is a total of 3 sections, they are – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. There are 11 languages in which NEET question papers are framed – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. In each section there are 45 questions, however, the Biology section alone carries 90 questions. The exam will be held in pen and paper mode.

Hence to conclude, NEET 2021 exam pattern remains unchanged. The candidates must focus on preparation as per the syllabus prescribed for NEET 2021. Also, candidates must only put their faith in NTA released official notices of nta.ac.in or at ntaneet.nic.in.

As per the recent official notice for NEET 2021 by NTA, NEET 2021 exam will be held on August 01, 2021. The application form for NEET 2021 will release soon on ntaneet.nic.in. The form will be available online only. Also, the Information Bulletin containing detailed information regarding the Test, syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorisation of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, State Code, etc. will be available shortly on the website ntaneet.nic.in, when the submission of the application form for NEET (UG) 2021 starts.
