Postcard Size Photo for NEET 2021

National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the registration process for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 on the official website nta.neet.nic.in. The application process shall take place only through the online mode and not through any offline mode. Interested candidates are instructed to complete all the registration formalities on or before August 06, 2021, up to 11:50 pm. The last date to pay the application fee is August 07, 2021, up to 11:50 pm. While filling the application form, students are puzzled about the postcard size photograph. Here are all the details to help them out.

What’s the postcard size photograph format?

NTA has provided a new document requirement this year for the NEET 2021 registration process i.e. scanned copy of postcard size photograph. This photograph should have a 4-inch height and a 6-inch width (4” X6”). The size of the image should remain between 10 kb to 200 kb. Usually, passport size is the norm of clicking pictures for official purposes. However, it is assumed that NTA requires photographs in two formats for candidate verification i.e passport size and postcard size.

How to get postcard size pictures?

The new document requirement has created confusion among NEET 2021 students. However, there are various ways in which candidates can get their postcard size pictures. Firstly, they can go to a nearby photo studio and get their pictures clicked. Thereafter, they can instruct the person in charge to provide copies of the photograph in the 4”x6” or postcard dimension. The same can be uploaded during the registration process.

In case candidates have e-copies of their passport size picture, they can use photo editing tools like photoshop to change the dimensions of the picture. Thereafter, candidates can get these pictures printed. Later on, they can scan these pictures and upload them at the time of registration. While both methods are equally effective, candidates are advised to stick to the first method to get good quality postcard size pictures.

What are the documents required for NEET 2021 registration?

During the online registration process, candidates have to upload scanned copies of important documents. These include – 1. Passport size picture, 2. Postcard size picture, 3. Candidate’s signature, and 4. Candidate’s left thumb impression. All these documents must be uploaded in the format and dimensions prescribed by the authorities.

Candidates are advised to take at least 4 to 6 postcard size photographs and 6 to 8 passport size photographs, which should be colored and have a white background. These photographs will be used while filling the application form and also during the counselling and admission process.

In case of photographs, the candidate must have taken them on or after January 01, 2021. The photographs must be without goggles, spectacles and the candidate shouldn’t be wearing a cap. Photographs must also contain at least 80% face coverage along with ears clearly visible and white background. At the time of the exam, students must keep extra passport size and postcard size pictures with them.
