National Testing Agency (NTA) hereby postpones the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2021 fourth session. The fourth and last attempt of the national level engineering entrance exam will be held on the newly decided dates.
The new exam dates of JEE Main 2021 4th attempt are August 26, 27, 31, 2021, and September 1, and 2, 2021. These dates have been informed by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, via twitter. He has also informed that the registration for 3rd attempt will be extended till July 20, 2021.
In a series of three tweets, the EM said:
In view of the persistent demand from the student community and to enable the candidates to maximise their performance, the @DG_NTA has been advised to provide a gap of four weeks between session 3 and session 4 of the JEE(Main) 2021 Exam.
Accordingly, the JEE(Main) 2021 session 4 will now be held on 26th, 27th & 31st August, and on 1st and 2nd September, 2021. A total of 7.32 lakh candidates have already registered for JEE(Main) 2021 session 4.
Registrations for the JEE(Main) session 4 is still in progress and dates for registration will be further extended upto 20th July, 2021.
This brings an end to the short battle fought by JEE aspirants urging NTA to postpone the fourth attempt. As soon as NTA had announced the exam dates of the exam’s 3rd and 4th attempts, students were up in arms against the ridiculously short gap of 2 days between the two; which obliterated the idea of having separate attempts altogether.
However, now with distractions of such issues out of the way, the time is nigh as the entrance exam draws near.
JEE Main 2021 third attempt will be held on four dates – July 20, 22, 25, and 27, 2021. A total of 7,09,519 students have applied for this exam. Admit card for this attempt are already out. Admittedly some candidates are facing issues in the download of the admit cards, however they seem to be on their way to getting solved.
After the third attempt, NTA shall declare answer keys and results of the same. And then one more chance will be given for applications and withdrawals. The number of candidates who have registered for the fourth attempt are 6.09 lakh, and may increase before the exam. Only after all four attempts, NTA will declare All India Ranks of candidates. On the basis of these ranks, candidates can either go for admissions to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, or eligible ones can appear in JEE Advanced 2021 to compete for admission in IITs. The postponement of JEE Main 2021 4th attempt also means that JEE Advanced will be delayed, foreseeably to September.
